Sunday I set out to make ONE card for Monday’s blog post. About 15 minutes into my struggle, I realized that I had to make FIVE cards (one for each day of the week – if I wanted to keep my Monday – Friday posting schedule) and get them photographed before Sunday afternoon was too dusky. With the kitchen remodeling, I am not guaranteed to have access to my normal photo spot (in front of the kitchen sliding glass door) while the light is perfect for photography. Luckily, between my scrap folder and this fun stamp set, I did get the 5 cards made & photographed.
This note card was really QUICK!
Supplies: Stamps – My Favorite Things, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Tempting Turquoise, inks – Stampin’ Up! Green Galore (retired), Tempting Turquoise, die – Spellbinders, twine – We R Memory Keepers.
I watercolored a background using Sakura Koi watercolors, and then die cut that with a stitched rectangle die. I used Ranger Multi Medium Matte liquid glue (sparingly) under the (butterfly) vellum, and it worked well. I will have to remember to ask Cousin Pati if the butterfly was still attached when she receives it!
Supplies: Stamp – Stampin’ Up!, paper – Canson watercolor, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Lovely Lilac vellum (retired), ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, watercolors – Sakura Koi, dies – Hero Arts (butterfly), Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), Spellbinders (rectangle turned flag), embossing powder – Ranger Silver Pearl, twine – We R Memory Keepers.
I was struggling with winter the day I made this. I pulled out some old Bold Bright colors and one of my happiest flower stamps EVER. The effort did help me!
And today is FRIDAY! Truly the BEST.DAY.EVER. 😉
Even if it did snow overnight.

Here is my entry for the Essentials by Ellen February 2016 Mix It Up Challenge . This month, the challenge is to mix Essentials by Ellen products with Penny Black products. I just got this gerbera daisy stamp (Penny Black) recently – I thought I had at least one other Penny Black stamp in my collection, but nothing else came out of my stamp storage area when I commanded, “Accio, Penny Black stamps!”
I stamped the flowers/butterfly onto watercolor paper with VersaFine Smokey Gray, and let it dry. (no embossing on the main image – odd for me!) I then used my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush markers and a water brush to paint the image. The card base was splattered with the Light Violet marker and a Wink of Stella (clear) pen.
The sentiment is from the Essentials by Ellen Wish Big set, and is embossed in Ranger Silver Pearl over white ink.

Tuesday, I was in the local mall returning online purchases. I saw a lady go past in a tunic that was a floral print in orchid, navy, black and white. It caught my attention!
