Long Neck Dinosaur Baby Card

This dinosaur family may be brachiosaurus, but I think of Littlefoot in the animated movie “The Land Before Time” – he was a Long Neck.

One of my cousins just welcomed a new grandbaby, and she requested another dinosaur baby card.  (The original dinosaur baby card is HERE .) I couldn’t make the cards the same…it took me a fair amount of time to have my epiphany.

I blended the sky with a cloud stencil, then built the scene on top of that with my die cut pieces. I struggled with where to place the “new baby” sentiment and finally decided to put it on Soft Sky paper so it blended with the sky.

Supplies:  Stamps – Clearly Besotted, Lawn Fawn, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Desert Storm, Stampin’ Up! Cajun Craze (I think?), Chocolate Chip, Confetti White, Crushed Curry, Kiwi Kiss (retired), Mellow Moss (retired), Soft Sky (retired), Tangerine Tango (retired), inks – Copic E23, Tim Holtz/Ranger Tumbled Glass, VersaFine Vintage Sepia, dies – Lawn Fawn (dinosaurs, trees, stitched hillside), Simon Says Stamp (banner), embossing folder – Provo Craft, stencil – My Favorite Things, oval punch – Stampin’ Up!, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

So Special Butterfly Card

I made this blended background ages ago, it was just hanging out in one of my folders. This week, I thought it needed a butterfly!

Supplies:  Stamp – My Favorite Things, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Night of Navy, Stardream Metallic Flame, Strathmore Bristol, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Blueprint Sketch, VersaFine Clair Twilight, dies – Hero Arts (butterfly), Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), Simon Says Stamp (banner), stencil – Heidi Swapp, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

Butterfly Birthday Wishes Card

For this butterfly, the Distress Inks blended on the paper as I stamped multiple times (using MISTI for placement).

Supplies:  Stamps – Stampin’ Up!, paper – Gmund Royal, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Inks – Hero Arts Unicorn, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), Spellbinders (rectangle), embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder white.

Don’t Forget to Be Awesome Card

We’ve had a few really beautiful sunrises in the last week. I was inspired by the quickly shifting colors for this card.

The background stamp (Stampin’ Up! Paisley – retired) is wood mounted, and I didn’t quite get perfect coverage. I stamped the sentiment directly on the inked background – why block more of the color than necessary?

Here is the progression of Monday’s sunrise:

Some of the photos were taken from the kitchen, some from the bedroom directly above the kitchen. The first photo was taken at 6:55am, the last at 7:36am.

Supplies:  Stamps – Stampin’ Up!, Waffle Flower, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon, Squeezed Lemonade, VersaFine Onyx Black, jewels – Swarovski AB, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear, organdy ribbon – Offray.

Looking For You Card

As I was making this (admittedly, SUBDUED) card, I thought of all of the bright color combinations that would be fabulous for it. Luckily, this stamp set has lots of sentiments, so you may see another version of this in the near future.

Each frame is double layered (navy over black, pattern over royal). The hearts in the background were blended through a stencil.

Supplies:  Stamp – My Favorite Things, paper – KaiserCraft Havana Nights, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Night of Navy, Smoky Slate, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Hickory Smoke, VersaFine Clair Twilight, dies – My Favorite Things, stencil – Simon Says Stamp, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

Pinkest Flamingos Note Card

I was looking to do something NOT FLORAL.  (sorry, floral is my go to thing!)

I still managed to get some of my favorite pink on the card, even without the flowers.

On the home front, I have successfully taken all of Christmas down and packed it away for next year. I even took the time to replace burnt out bulbs on the tree (so it will be ready to go in December).

Supplies:  Stamps – Technique Tuesday, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Brushed Silver, Smoky Slate, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Antique Linen, Tumbled Glass, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Oxide Ink Picked Raspberry, dies – Spellbinders (ovals), Technique Tuesday (flamingo), embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, organdy ribbon – ClearBags.

You Are My Anchor Card

Recently, Simon Says Stamp was giving away the Gina K. Designs mini wreath builder template and stamp set with ANY order. So, I went scouring for a mini stamp set and die (less than $10 total). I wound up with this Waffle Flower set (I already own multiple anchor stamps/dies, but no sentiments that coordinate with an anchor). Great! AND I dug up a $5 coupon, which helped with shipping.

I blended distress inks over a stencil onto Strathmore Bristol paper – so smooth for blending.

Supplies: Stamps – Waffle Flower, paper – Curious Metallics Shadow, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Bermuda Bay, Strathmore Bristol, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – My Favorite Things (pierced rectangle), Waffle Flower (anchor), stencil – Simon Says Stamp, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear, floss – DMC.
