Floral Birthday Card – Distress Oxide Watercoloring

I was inspired by this blog post by Jennifer McGuire – Distress Oxide Ink Watercolor .

So, I pulled out my 4 Distress Oxide Ink pads and got to work. I realized after starting to paint the flowers that I needed more colors. I mixed blue and pink, and then yellow and pink.

Jury duty update – the recording last night excused groups 20 – 39 for the rest of the week. I was in group 27. My civic duty is complete, for a calendar year, then my name goes back into the jury duty lottery in my county of residence.

Supplies: Stamps – Altenew, Reverse Confetti, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Papertrey Ink Kraft, Stampin’ Up! Bermuda Bay, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Oxide Ink Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean, Squeezed Lemonade, VersaFine Onyx Black, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, twine – Stampin’ Up!

Smooshed Floral Birthday Note Cards

I had a second scrap of the smooshed background left, so I cut it into two pieces and made two note cards.

(Here is the original inspiration from the Taylored Expressions blog .)

No jury duty for today – my group was not to report.

Supplies: Stamps – Altenew, Papertrey Ink, paper – Canson watercolor, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Cameo Coral (retired), Orchid Opulence (retired), inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, Shaded Lilac, Spun Sugar, Wilted Violet, VersaFine Onyx Black, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

Smooshing Background Enveloper Birthday Card

I have tried the smooshing technique before, and I am never totally satisfied with my results. I was inspired by this Taylored Expressions blog post to try again.

I used Distress Ink pads, so my color tended to stay linear (pad edges).

I was encouraged enough by this to want to try it again, maybe with watercolor paint or ink pad reinkers.

No jury duty today – the recorded message indicated no one was to report.

Supplies: Stamps – Papertrey Ink, Waffle Flower, paper – Canson watercolor, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Taylored Expressions Jelly Donut, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, Shaded Lilac, Spun Sugar, Wilted Violet, VersaMark, die – Taylored Expressions, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail Gold, organdy ribbon – Offray.

Life is a Beach Card

Happy Friday!

Hey, I might be missing some of next week – I have jury duty.

Supplies: Stamps – Inkadinkado, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake, inks – Copic B05, R29, Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, VersaFine Smoky Gray, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

Distress Ink Enveloper Note Cards

I had my Waffle Flower Enveloper Little Birdie stamp set out, and I have been wanting to just use ink on it (no embossing powder, no hand coloring, no painting).

The “possibilities” card is regular Distress inks, the “thanks” card is Distress Oxide inks. I used my MISTI, and cleaned the stamp between ink colors. The ink blending happened on the paper, not on the stamp.

Supplies: Stamps – Simon Says Stamp, Waffle Flower, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, inks – Hero Arts Unicorn, Tim Holtz/Rander Distress Inks Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Oxide inks Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean, Squeezed Lemonade, VersaFine Onyx Black, embossing powders – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, Stampendous Detail clear, organdy ribbon – Offray.

Floral Wreath Birthday Card – Ellen Hutson June 2018 Color Trend Challenge

I dug deep and finally completed another challenge. This is for the Ellen Hutson June 2018 Color Trend Challenge .

Here is the inspiration:

In reality, I loved everything on the inspiration board, but thought I would execute something too close to the inspiration. So, I stuck to it being a color challenge.

I cut a 5 inch square of white cardstock, and used my homemade wreath builder tool to build the wreath on my MISTI. After I was done stamping, I did trim 1/8th of an inch from each side, to give me space for the black mat.

I have stashed it away for personal use.

Supplies: Stamps – Clearly Besotted, Essentials by Ellen, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, inks – Hero Arts Unicorn, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Chipped Sapphire, Crushed Olive, Lucky Clover, Mowed Lawn, Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass, Wild Honey, Wilted Violet, die – Spellbinders, sequins – Pretty Pink Posh, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder white.
