You Are Mermazing Card

I used this cutie on a birthday card I needed to send, and made a second card with a fun sentiment.

I stamped the rock first, then masked it off to blend the sky and water. The mermaid was colored with Copics and die cut, but then I fussy cut it with detail scissors right against the embossing. I colored the raw edge with a black marker. I used an embossing folder on the water part of the card.

Supplies:  Stamps – My Favorite Things, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Bermuda Bay, Strathmore Bristol, inks – Copic B02, BG15, BV00, C3, E11, E21, E23, E51, V04, 100, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Blueprint Sketch, Tumbled Glass, VersaFine Onyx Black, Smokey Gray, dies – Lawn Fawn, embossing folder – Darice, sequins – Simon Says Stamp, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

Bavarian Themed Thinking of You Card

WOOT! I made this in under an hour yesterday morning!  Not saying the mojo stuck around after I got it put together, but I feel better.

So, context. Random, right? Nope. Offspring3 is back in Germany, although not in Bavaria for this trip. She has sent me photos of brezen (pretzels – YUM!), that is where the pretzels came in. The blue diamonds are on the Bavarian flag, so that seemed like the perfect backdrop.

Looking for a Bavarian flag image to post, I stumbled upon Sheldon & Amy demonstrating what I needed!

Offspring3 has already called dibs on this.

Guten tag!

Supplies: Stamps: Avery Elle, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Chocolate Chip (retired), Stardream Metallics Gold, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Salty Ocean, VersaFine Vintage Sepia, VersaMark, dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), Spellbinders (circles), embossing powder – Stampendous Detail Gold.

Beach Sign Birthday Card

I’ve not been crafting because I was STUCK. I had to make this card. I didn’t know what to make (male birthday, personal use). I could not get past it. I pulled out other stamps, thinking if I created something, ANYTHING, it would help me move forward.

Ugh. My mojo scurried even farther under the couch.

I finally settled on this birthday stamp, and I was going to make it an underwater scene, with seaweed & fish. I started down that path, and realized I needed a bigger card (which would need more space filled in with underwater things), and my deadline (Thursday AM) was quickly approaching.

Scrap the underwater idea!

So, how about just a sign, sitting on the beach? I stamped the sign first, then masked it and blended ink around it.

Have a nice weekend! I’ll be trying to coax my mojo out from under the couch.

Supplies:  Stamps – Hero Arts, My Favorite Things, Stampin’ Up!, paper – ESSE Pearlized Latte, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Pacific Point, inks – Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Antique Linen, Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, VersaFine Onyx Black, Smoky Gray, dies – My Favorite Things, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

Stenciled Shells Miss You Card

I saw this stencil on Kristina Werner’s blog a few weeks ago (right around the time I needed retail therapy to deal with my dentist billing dispute!)

I blended three Distress Ink colors (Antique Linen, Shaded Lilac, Spun Sugar) over the stencil and let them dry. After I was sure the piece was dry, I carefully placed the stencil over the images exactly, and spread translucent embossing paste over the stencil. Now all of the shells are shaded, raised and shiny.

(SO HAPPY with how the background turned out!)

We spent last week at the beach. I already miss the sand, surf & shells! Everything is unpacked & put away, and I am all caught up on the laundry.

Back to reality – Mom fell again while I was gone and fractured her arm. Does anyone know where I can find a bubble wrap suit??

Supplies: Stamp – My Favorite Things, paper – Curious Metallics Gold Leaf, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Antique Linen, Shaded Lilac, Spun Sugar, dies – My Favorite Things, stencil – Newton’s Nook, embossing paste – Dreamweaver Studio 490 Wendy Vecchi translucent, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail Gold, gold cord – PaperMart.
