Floral Encouragement Card

I have used this stamp with this color combination before, and I had stamped an extra envelope to match last time.

I was inspired by Kristina Werner’s use of border stamps to stamp both the top and the bottom of the panel.

All the Pieces Ready to Mix and Match

I bought the horse stamp…for a baby card.

I have been turning it over & over in my head, trying to get my angle on it. I stamped, stenciled, embossed and cut all of my pieces. The ones on the left are card bases, next to that is the largest layer. My background options are on the right, with the horse and the two sentiment choices.

I mixed and matched the options and took photos to send to my cousin (the customer).

How does your design process go when the item is not for you?

Oceans of Love Fish Card

When I got this stencil last year, my first thought was to make each fish a different color…and my logistical brain said “way too much work”. I FINALLY went back to my first thought, and am very glad I took the time!

I used Post-It tape to mask off each individual fish, each bubble (yes, I have a few places where I missed).

When the ink was dry, I repositioned the stencil and applied clear embossing paste over the colored fish. After the embossing paste dried, I applied a very light watercolor wash (and tried to keep my brush as dry as possible, since I didn’t use watercolor or Bristol paper) to make the watery background.

Mood when done:  HAPPY.  🙂
