Saxophone Snowman Christmas Card

stump 2014 xmas

This is the card that I designed for my parents to mail this year.

I was originally looking for gold cord or twine to tie around the fold, but could not find anything locally available that matched the thought in my head. So, I added the stripe of gold mirror finish paper in the middle. (And, boy, did that gold mirror paper make this difficult to photograph!)

Supplies: Stamps – The Cat’s Pajamas, paper – Papertrey Ink Kraft, White, Recollections Gold Mirrror, Stampin’ Up! Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy (retired), Crushed Curry, inks – Copic BG10, C3, G99, R11, R29, R89, Y26, Y28, YR68, Stampin’ Up! Pool Party, VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Lawn Fawn, embossing folders – Provo Craft, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

Holiday Scrap Tags 2014

scrap tags 2014

Still working on gift tags for home.

Had a really productive holiday prep weekend here…got my Christmas cards assembled, the tree decorated, and one batch of cookies baked (and into the freezer).

Tool alert – I recently purchased an Artist’s Loft Junior T-Square at my local Michael’s store. I pulled it out yesterday, to help me place the computer generated sentiments (printed, then die cut) on the inside of my cards. OH, MY! How did I not have one of these years ago?? (truth be told, I have a big t-square with my Engineering Graphics tool kit from NCSU Fall 1979 semester, but it is too big to use with greeting cards!) Made placing the sentiment a quick & easy job!

Have a great Monday!

Supplies: Stamps – JustRite, Stampin’ Up!, The Cat’s Pajamas, paper – Papertrey Ink White, Stampin’ Up! Real Red, inks – Copic R29, VersaFine Onyx Black, Smoky Gray, dies – Lawn Fawn (tag, protector, left), Papertrey Ink (bookmark, center), Spellbinders (rectangle, right), embossing folder – Provo Craft, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, Ranger Liquid Platinum, Stampin’ Up! Gold Detail Powder, Stampin’ Up! Silver Detail Powder, metallic cord – PaperMart, red/white cord – Offray.

Bokeh Gift Tag

bokah stenciled tag

For some reason, I got it in my head that I needed to make a bokeh inspired gift tag. Offspring3 observed me making this tag, the use of the stencil and the ink blending tool must have been intriguing. The comment I got when done? “Geez, Mom, that must be an $8 tag!” Well, babycakes, I made it out of scraps and it is for home use. 😉

Here is a close up of the vellum snowflakes (there are 3, if you are counting) – very hard to photograph well.

Snowman Guitarist Christmas Card

guitar snowman xmas

Hey, Happy Monday!

This cute guy is from the set with the saxophone snowman.  Equally adorable! The set comes with a “Merry Christmas” sentiment that looks like notes coming from either the saxophone or guitar. I was wishing for a “happy birthday to you” in the same style, I think that would be so perfect for a winter birthday with either of the musically inclined snowmen.

December 1st…time to break out the German Advent calendars! I even remembered to send them with Offspring1 & Offspring2 on the return run to campus last night.

More White and Burgundy Encouragement Cards

burgundy and white cats

Here are a few more encouragement cards for the friend of a friend who is battling two primary cancers (oral – burgundy, lung – white). I did a bit of an animal theme this week – the recipient has two cats, and what’s not to love about a super hero dog!

I needed a get well card to drop in the mail to a family member. I chose to use Miss Kitty Kat in bed with an ice pack, colored in school colors for the recipient.

Garden Green, inks – Copic C3, YG17, Y18, VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Reverse Confetti, embossing powder – Ranger Super Fine Detail Powder clear, silver ribbon – Stampin’ Up! Masculine Quilt Get Well Card

masculine quilt get well

Trying to fill in all of the sections of my card basket, I needed a get well card that was neutral to masculine. I dug out retired Stampin’ Up! designer paper, punched squares out, and glued them on to a piece of lightweight cardstock.

Quilt backgrounds are a great way to use up all of the designer paper (or scrapbooking paper) scraps!

Supplies: Stamp – The Cat’s Pajamas, paper – Papertrey Ink White, Stampin’ Up! designer (retired), Night of Navy, rectangle die – Spellbinders, square punch – Stampin’ Up!, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, twine – We R Memory Keepers.
