Khaki Royal Diagonal Birthday

Khaki and royal (or navy) is a go to color combination for me when working on masculine cards.

I used the diagonal cutting plate on the khaki cardstock, and I had every intention in taking the pieces out and adding royal stripes into the khaki frame. BUT, I didn’t use a shim when cutting, and the pieces did not cut all the way through. As Bob Ross used to say, “we don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents.”

Supplies: Stamp – Reverse Confetti, paper – Gmund Royal, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Sahara Sand, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Lawn Fawn, cutting plate – Taylored Expressions, embossing powder – Ranger Liquid Platinum.

Halloween Lunchbox Notes

These cute lunchbox notes were running around in my head, distracting me from other work. I had to make them to move on. Of course, my offspring are past lunchbox notes, and I am not sure what I am going to do with these!

The little 2 x 2 inch scenes were on one sheet of Doodlebug Designs Brews and Boos paper. The finished cards are 3 x 3 inches square, and I even had the perfect size envelopes in my stash. (They do not meet minimum size requirements for the United States Postal Service.)

Supplies: paper – Doodlebug Designs Brews and Boos, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Poptone Sour Apple, Stampin’ Up! Pumpkin Pie, Taylored Expressions Grape Jelly.

Cozy Holiday Card

Obviously, my Coffee Cup Tag stamps and dies were still on my craft table! The stamp set is actually a winter holiday set – so, I FINALLY made a winter holiday card.

I stamped the cup image in red ink (multiple times, using the MISTI, to get perfect coverage) and embossed with clear powder. The teal paper is from Lawn Fawn’s Snow Day 6 x 6 pad.

Supplies: Stamps – Hero Arts, paper – Lawn Fawn Snow Day, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Gray, Real Red, inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, Satin Red, dies – Hero Arts (cup, lid), Taylored Expressions (banner), embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder, Ranger clear, metallic cord – Paper Mart.

Dotted Sunflower Birthday Card

My Mom’s birthday is coming up. I wanted to use a sunflower, but none of my larger sunflower stamps were what I was looking to use. So, I combined a smaller sunflower stamp with the die that fits one of my larger sunflower stamps (and, NO, I can never get the large stamp and die to match up – super frustrating!).

After I had my sunflower assembled, I started to look around for a background. This dotted A Muse paper must be 10 years old, but it is perfect here. (It came in a variety pack of colors – I have mostly just scraps left.)

In trimming the dotted paper, the scrap that was left was perfect for a note card.

Supplies: Stamps – Clearly Besotted, Papertrey Ink, Stampin’ Up!, paper – A Muse Kitchen, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Close to Cocoa (retired), Daffodil Delight, inks – Copic E11, E25, R02, R24, R29, YG03, Y18, VersaFine Onyx Black, Vintage Sepia, dies – My Favorite Things (sunflower), Spellbinders (circles), Taylored Expressions (banner), embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, twine – Martha Stewart.

Lilac, Orchid & Olive Floral Birthday Card

The Paint Prints stamp set was still on my craft table from the khaki, navy & white sympathy card.

I do love this floral in bright colors! I can’t put it away without doing something bright!

I stamped the background, embossed the flower centers, and cut a window out to display the sentiment beneath. I added the black frame to give some definition.

I keep most scraps that I cut out of collage backgrounds – why waste them??

I matted the scrap with black and added a sentiment below. TA DA! A birthday note card.

Supplies: Stamps – Papertrey Ink, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Orchid Opulence (retired), inks – Stampin’ Up! Lovely Lilac (retired), Old Olive, Orchid Opulence, VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Spellbinders (wonky rectangles), Taylored Expressions (banner), sequins – Pretty Pink Posh, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, organdy ribbon – Offray.

Hello Floral Card – Essentials by Ellen August 2017 Pin Sights Challenge

(click on any photo to enlarge)

I saw the colors for this month’s Essentials by Ellen August 2017 Pin Sights Challenge, and had to participate.

Here is the inspiration board:

I stamped my florals in Distress Inks, so the coverage is not solid – this was an intentional choice.

After the ink dried (I let it sit overnight – just because I could), I added the detail items to the flowers/leaves with  3 different color detail embossing powders.

Then, I die cut the word out of the floral background, and out of yellow card stock. I ultimately decided one extra layer was not enough, and cut another “Hello” out of tangerine card stock.

Here is a side view of the layers:

Thanks so much for stopping by!
