Fusion#3 – Valentine Card

fusion 2 valentine

A few weeks ago, I found a new challenge blog, called Fusion Card Challenge.  They post 2 inspirations at a time…a photo and a layout sketch. You can participate by using either or both inspirations.

This card is for the Fusion #3 Challenge, and I used both the layout sketch and the inspiration photo (Valentine themed).

I die cut different size hearts out of white cardstock and out of Echo Park Yours Truly paper. I replaced the white cutouts with the Echo Park paper, added a few more punched hearts (the gray ones are covered with Glossy Accents), a few wooden hearts, and a few heart Twinkle stickers.

Here is the inspiration:

CC463 – Thinking of You Note Card

cc463 thinking of you

Here is my entry for this week’s Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge CC463. The colors are Coastal Cabana, So Saffron and Tangerine Tango, with dessert option of a wooden embellishment.

I used my new Papertrey Ink chevron die and Words of Comfort sentiment set on this. I die cut the chevron out of white paper, then backed the white paper with Coastal Cabana, and inserted the stripes of So Saffron and Tangerine Tango.

edited 2/4/2014: I got named CC463 Favorite! Thanks so much, Peggy!

Shiba Inu Card

bite my fluffy tail

I have recently purchased several stamp sets and die sets that contain speech bubbles. I am happy to be able to make my stamps say something specific and personal.

In 2008, while reading the Everyday Chit Chat Forum at SplitcoastStampers, I ran across the link to the Shiba Inu Puppy Cam. I shared the link with all the Offspring, the puppies were (still are!) such fun to watch. Offspring2 and I still check the webcam every day. If I was not allergic to dogs, I’m thinking I would have caved to the demand to have a Shiba Inu by now!

This dog stamp is from A Muse ArtStamps. I don’t think it is exactly a Shiba Inu, but it does have characteristics that remind us of Shibas (those ears, the shape of the head & face), so I use it often on cards for Offspring2.

Offspring2 will be living on campus next semester (not living at home, commuting to the local community college). I’m sure we will communicate often via Facebook messages and phone texts, but I will miss the spur of the moment laughter shared watching the dogs. I will mail the card to campus after spring semester begins.

I embossed the speech bubble, and wrote the sentiment by hand.

PPA179 – Get Well Card

ppa179 get well

The Pals Paper Arts challenge this week is a color challenge, PPA179 . The colors are Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, and Rich Razzleberry.

I have to tell you, Crushed Curry and Rich Razzleberry together took me back to the first day of school in 6th grade. We had been school clothes shopping at Korvettes, and I had gotten a maroon/dark berry fine wale corduroy mini skirt, and a gold skinny ribbed shirt. I thought I was IT. (cute & age appropriate, maybe, but “it”? NO!)

And, yes, my brother wants to know how I remember all of this. 😉

Supplies: Stamps – Lawn Fawn, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Papertrey Ink White, Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Lawn Fawn (speech bubble), Reverse Confetti (tag), embossing folder – Stampin’ Up!, sequins & wooden heart – Studio Calico, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, twine – We R Memory Keepers.
