Paper and Ink Imaginings

just playing with paper and ink

St. Patrick’s Day Card

I splurged last St. Patrick’s Day and bought some clearance items to use in the future (I only make one or 2 St. Patrick’s Day cards, I don’t feel pressured to purchase something new every year). This one is for Mom & Dad.

Supplies: Stamp – Hero Arts, paper – Echo Park Lucky Charm, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Poptone Sour Apple, Stampin’ Up! Confetti White, Stardreams Gold, ink – VersaFine Smokey Gray, dies – My Favorite Things (pierced rectangle), Taylored Expressions (shamrock), embossing powder – Stampendous Gold Detail, twine – Martha Stewart.

Emboss Resist Get Well Card

For this background, I stamped Spanish Script in Shabby Shutters Distress ink first. After that dried completely, I stamped the foliage in VersaMark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Finally, I blended Shabby Shutters over the entire piece.

Supplies: Stamps – A Muse Artstamps, Cornish Heritage Farms, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Pear Pizzazz, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Shabby Shutters, VersaFine Smokey Gray, VersaMark, dies – Spellbinders, embossing powders – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, Stampendous Gold Detail.

Metallic and White Feminine Tag – Ellen Hutson 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2016 Challenge

This tag is for the Ellen Hutson 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2016 Challenge. (that is a mouthful!) It is a BIG challenge, and I love it.

My tag was inspired by the Day 9 tags by Sharon Harnist and Jean Manis – Sharon challenged me to use frosty white with silver or gold metallics.

Me, being the overachiever that I am, used silver and gold, and a shimmery white that has a touch of gold. And pearls.

The back of the tag is gold, with silver embossing.

(Look at how much the light changed in my family room in an hour!)

The challenge runs through December 17, 2016. AND, there is going to be a random drawing from all of the qualifying entries for $150 gift certificate to the Ellen Hutson store. Have you posted an entry yet??

Supplies: Stamp – Essentials by Ellen, paper – Curious Ice Gold, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stardreams Gold (back of tag), Silver, ink – VersaMark, dies – Impression Obsession (snowflakes), Lawn Fawn (stitched hillside), Taylored Expressions (tag), Swarovski pearls, embossing powder – Stampendous! Gold Detail, gold cord – Stampin’ Up! (retired), organdy/satin ribbon – PaperMart.

Let the record show…

…that for the first time in my card making career, I have my own personal holiday cards totally assembled before mid December!

I used my new MISTI to help with the mass production (that and a lot of pine cone masks!).

I blogged this card back in July. I did add a banner for the sentiment on my mass produced cards, I felt the original gold on kraft sentiment did not show as well as I hoped.

And, please don’t think I am ready for the holidays because I finished my cards. I have hardly done any shopping, no decorating, I still have to make my parents’ holiday cards, create the photo calendar for next year (we give as gifts to the grandparents), sew a brand new Christmas stocking, and bake whatever variety of cookies I am inspired to bake.

Just let me bask in my accomplishment a minute longer…and then I will go work on laundry.   😉

Have a great day!

Gold, Aqua and Cocoa Anniversary Card

I had this greenery stamp mounted on my brand-spankin-new MISTI (birthday gift from Offspring3), mass producing a Christmas card project. OH.MY.GOODNESS. I have to say, the MISTI is going to make my mass production projects much easier! (It will calm my perfectionism and OCD tendencies!)

So, I grabbed a nice aqua and stamped twice (once, rotated paper, twice), then embossed with gold.

This color scheme reminds me of someone’s old “office” (cough, cough, *Irene*).

Supplies: Stamps – Papertrey Ink, Rubber Stampede, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Close to Cocoa (retired), Pool Party, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMark, dies – My Favorite Things, embossing powder – Stampendous Gold Detail.

Fall Colors Henna Elements Birthday Card

I sent this off to my GREAT friend, Irene. I miss her living across the cul-de-sac.

One of the trees at her old house caught my attention yesterday, while I was cleaning. Isn’t it beautiful?

Supplies: Stamps – Altenew, Papertrey Ink, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, inks – Copic G99, R02, R39, R89, YG95, Yr04, YR09, YR68, Y18, VersaFine Smokey Gray, ZIG Wink of Stella clear,  die – Lawn Fawn, sequins – Pretty Pink Posh, embossing powder – Stampendous! Gold Detail.

Merry Christmas Inlaid Wreath Card

Taylored Expressions released this Wreath Cutting Plate in October. I.HAD.TO.HAVE.IT. I was online EXACTLY at 10:00am EST to order this cutting plate and the Peaceful Poinsettia Embossing Folder.

Odd how I didn’t use it for over a month. (insert exasperated sigh) In my defense, October was busy on its own, and I got thrown a few family health curve balls. (No worries, all is well.) And I knew exactly what card I was going to make first.

I cut three colors of cardstock with the cutting plate, placing each color of cardstock on top of a folded dryer sheet, to help keep the pieces together when removing the die from the paper.

Then, I mounted the frame parts on cardstock (white or kraft). With my trusty Ranger Multi Medium Matte bottle in hand, I glued individual pieces into the frames.

Supplies: Stamp – Essentials by Ellen, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Papertrey Ink Kraft, Stampin’ Up! Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz, ink – VersaFine Vintage Sepia, dies – Lawn Fawn (tag, with tag detail cut off), My Favorite Things (pierced rectangle), Taylored Expressions (wreath cutting plate), embossing powder – Stampendous Gold Detail, gold cord – PaperMart.
