Textured Floral Birthday Card

This card is the remade version of something I attempted to make in a rush last week.

Have you ever put a project together and growled because something landed where you didn’t quite intend? Sometimes, the unintended is OK (or even serendipitous!). Sometimes, the whole project gets trashed because of that flaw. This time, I actually salvaged the pieces and redid the card.

Here is the original rushed version:

The two top flowers are too even for me. I had adhesive on the back of the white sentiment, and was hovering over the flowers trying to space them correctly, and I snagged the last one (top right) in the wrong place. UGH. But I put it all together anyway, thinking maybe it would not bother me so much when my frustration wore off. WRONG.

I was able to blast the top of the card with my heat gun and peel off the sentiment and flowers without ruining the blue layer. I die cut another sentiment (I had stamped extras the first time), added a layer behind it, die cut new flowers and threw in a few butterflies and sequins.

Thanks for stopping by!

Calaveras Valentine Card

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Here is the card I made for Offspring3 – with her favorite calaveras (sugar skulls).

Also, a few photos from our 2 day ice event (Monday 2/11/19 and Tuesday 2/12/19). These photos are from Tuesday.

Remember – you can click on any photos on my blog and get a larger view in a new window.

The first photo of the morning – before daylight.

Our neighbors have 2 pear trees between our houses. The front pear tree split and a large branch fell parallel to our house & driveway sometime in the early morning. But look at how both trees are pulling outward –  they were brushing both our roof and the neighbor’s roof. We are the house on the left – the top branches were touching the roof over my master bedroom, and were leaning over the family room on the first floor. (It was a very tense day here!)

Around 11:00am – look at how much ice is on these branches!! This is the second leaning pear tree canopy from my master bedroom window (back of house). Yes, I was leaning out the open window, and zooming to get the ice detail – the branches were not actually covering my window.

Supplies:  Stamps – Newton’s Nook, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Real Red, Tempting Turquoise (retired), inks – Hero Arts Unicorn, VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Lawn Fawn, rounded tag punch – Stampin’ Up!, embossing powders – Filigree Fine Art Powder white, Stampendous Detail clear.

Bright Pink and Yellow Birthday Note Card

This flower stamp is from a 2007 Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Polka Dots and Paisley. It sits out near my workspace almost all of the time because it has a polka dot stamp that I use to stamp 80% of my envelope flaps (in a coordinating color).

For whatever reason, the little flower caught my eye. I stamped it using Taylored Expressions ink cubes – which worked brilliantly, and were much cleaner than trying to ink the stamp with a full size ink pad.

Supplies:  Stamps – Papertrey Ink, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, PopTone Razzle Berry, Taylored Expressions Lemon Meringue, inks – My Favorite Things Razzle Berry, Taylored Expressions Lemon Meringue, Lime Zest, Lollipop, dies – Spellbinders, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

I Like You a Waffle Lot Cards

I had Technique Tuesday’s Waffle Lot stamp set out working on a Valentine card.

I used masking to stamp a waffle background.

I made an extra one, just to have around.

For this one, I pulled out an old Provo Craft embossing folder (Traffic Jam) to repeat the waffle dents on the background.

Supplies:  Stamps – Technique Tuesday, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Desert Storm, Stampin’ Up! Real Red, Tempting Turquoise (retired), inks – Copic E23, E53, Y13, Y18, Stampin’ Up! Coffee Cake, VersaFine Onyx Black, Vintage Sepia, dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), Papertrey Ink (mat stack), Spellbinders (circle), embossing folder – Provo Craft, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.
