Cherry, Olive and Gold Be Merry Card

The Hero Arts You’re So Lovely stamp set was still on my craft table. And I was looking at the greenery stamps. Hmmm….

I mounted 4 of the greenery stamps on one block and stamped a background, leaving space for the red berries. I was letting it dry, and I searched for a little dot to use to add some gold.

Very mail friendly!!

Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, VersaFine Vintage Sepia, die – My Favorite Things, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail Gold, metallic cord – Paper Mart.

Hello Floral Card – Essentials by Ellen August 2017 Pin Sights Challenge

(click on any photo to enlarge)

I saw the colors for this month’s Essentials by Ellen August 2017 Pin Sights Challenge, and had to participate.

Here is the inspiration board:

I stamped my florals in Distress Inks, so the coverage is not solid – this was an intentional choice.

After the ink dried (I let it sit overnight – just because I could), I added the detail items to the flowers/leaves with  3 different color detail embossing powders.

Then, I die cut the word out of the floral background, and out of yellow card stock. I ultimately decided one extra layer was not enough, and cut another “Hello” out of tangerine card stock.

Here is a side view of the layers:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies: Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Tangerine Tango, Taylored Expressions Lemon Meringue, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Abandoned Coral, Mowed Lawn, Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon, Squeezed Lemonade, VersaFine Vintage Sepia, VersaMark, dies – Essentials by Ellen (word), Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), embossing powders – Ranger Silver Pearl, Stampendous Gold Detail, Stampin’ Up! Silver Detail, organdy ribbon – Offray.

Flat Panel Encouragement Card

I mentioned earlier this summer, that one of the teachers from our elementary school was undergoing chemotherapy for an early stage of breast cancer (with an excellent prognosis).

(Note: the offspring are all WAY out of elementary school! But I still keep in touch (or run into) some of the teachers that were such a big part of our lives.)

My friend had such overwhelming support around her, she decided to channel some of that support into helping other people going through chemotherapy. She asked for donations to create “chemo care bags”, that will be presented to patients who are in the chemo treatment chairs. Think of it as a small makeup bag, containing things you might need while you are hooked up to an IV – tissues, lip balm, hand lotion, hard candy.

Fast forward a few weeks, the donations totaled 52 bags! I got a message asking if I could donate some encouragement cards (one per bag). So, I am gladly donating half of the cards she needs. We decided on flat panel cards (no fold, blank on the back).

My biggest challenge – they all have to be gender neutral (because they will be randomly handed out). No flowers!

This is card #1.

Supplies: Stamp – My Favorite Things, paper – Basic Grey, Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, Stampin’ Up! Soft Sky, ink – VersaFine Vintage Sepia, dies – Spellbinders, embossing powder – Stampendous Gold Detail powder.
