Watercolored Embossed Note Card – Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge this week is One Layer, and they are highlighting Paper Smooches products.

I have one set of Paper Smooches sentiment stamps (Uplifters), and one set of Paper Smooches dies (Pocket). I embossed the flower dies into a note card cut out of watercolor paper, and used Sakura Koi watercolors to paint the embossed outlines. After the paper was dry, I heat embossed the sentiment.

Supplies: Stamp – Paper Smooches, paper – Canson watercolor, ink – VersaFine Smoky Gray, watercolors – Sakura Koi, embossing powder – Ranger Liquid Platinum, organdy ribbon – Offray.

Layered Valentine’s Day Card – Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

I was looking at the pad of Crate Paper that came in the Simon Says Stamp February kit…and thinking…”I need to use all of these prints together!” And, amazingly enough, the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is titled Have a Heart.

I pondered that for a while, then remembered the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge #146, Angled Backgrounds .  Yeah, yeah…this is coming together.

What if I use the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillsides dies to make curved stitching on the edge? (Did I see this on a blog this past week? Maybe on a tag? I went back and looked, but could not find it.)

I even used the “unstitched” sides of the curves to make another card.

Spread Your Wings Paper Crane Card

The current challenge on the Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog is “Get Krafty”. I used kraft as my card base.

The crane is cut out of this beautiful, iridescent, translucent paper. I got it as a sample with some order years ago (maybe California Paper Goods…I found a swatch in my CPG swatch book labeled “Metallic Papaya”…no company name). According to Google, it is WorldWin Metallic Vellum.

Here is a close up of the crane in direct sunlight – you have to see the shimmer!

I love the sentiments in the Reverse Confetti Paper Crane set.
