World Card Making Day 2019!

Hello!

I didn’t know if I would have time to participate in World Card Making Day – but I did!  (it’s noon & I am still in my pajamas…priorities, right?)

I admit I watercolored the carnations last night (so it would dry). The background, sentiment, assembly were all done today.

This card is leaving with a batch of brownies in the morning.

Watercolored Pink Gerbera Daisy Birthday Card

This one is for personal use.

The recipient loves bright pink (me, too!), so I watercolored a bright orange and pink Gerbera daisy and die cut it. I inlaid a gold daisy into the blue card stock, then popped the watercolored daisy up on some clear Kool Tak foam (so you won’t see white edges when you peep in to see the gold layer underneath).

A sentiment and a few sequins, I am done.

Bright Floral Wreath Square Cards

 

I wanted to use the Essentials by Ellen “positive mental vibes” sentiment on a wreath card, which led me to bright, happy color choices.

And you know I have to make 2 of anything with lots of stamping – in case I mess up at the last step. Luckily, this time, no snafus for me!

For this card, I embossed a scallops die (Essentials by Ellen) instead of die cutting with it. I like the background texture it created.

Washi Encouragement Note Card

I stumbled upon a small pack of Pinkfresh Studio Felicity washi stickers (these were free with an order last year? Maybe Simon Says Stamp?) in my paper storage on Monday – a quick and easy encouragement note card was born.

And, if you have clicked to enlarge the photo and noticed the tiny strand of pink lint behind the washi tape (next to the sentiment), you will be happy to know that I spent 10 delicate minutes peeling back the tape and removing the strand. Alas, I was not motivated to take a new photo.  🙂
