2021 New Year Card – Almost!

My Christmas cards morphed into New Years cards, and, ALAS, I am still not done. I was going to make two versions – this one, and a sarcastic one.

THEN, January 6th happened, and my sarcastic idea *might* look political (which it was not meant to be political at all, but I didn’t want anyone to misinterpret)?

No no no, can’t have that.

I do know what I will do for the other version, but have completed not a bit of it yet.

I have been in various levels of funk as well. Based on various things (some personal, some national news level), of which I have no control. (Why be in a funk if it is nothing that I have control over?? Try hard, it still happens!)

Somehow, Mother Nature has smiled upon us here in the Mid-Atlantic this week, and we have SUNSHINE.

Hoping you have sunshine on your corner of the internet as well.

Dachshund Snowy Day Thank You Card

Another card requested by my cousin.

I have created sunny day backgrounds for the dachshund to frolic in, but it is December, and I wasn’t looking to do that. I looked through my 6 x 6 holiday papers and found this perfect scene.

Hope your Christmas was the best it could be in this odd, trying year. Ours was very nice, although different (we delivered holiday food to my parents on Christmas, and my in-laws on the day after Christmas). The package mailed to Offspring1 that we thought got lost (in reality, it sat in the overwhelmed Baltimore Post Office for 2 weeks), arrived safely at its destination on Christmas Eve.

So, I am ready to clean up 2020 and move on to 2021.

Have a great day!

Snoopy Thank You Card

One of my cousins requested a few thank you cards.

I stamped Snoopy, then masked him with a piece of a Post It Note, and blended a background around him.

Fretting about things that are not Christmas related, not getting the Christmas related things done. Oh, well.

Supplies:  Stamp – Stampabilities, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Poptone Black Licorice, Stampin’ Up! Soft Sky (retired), inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Shabby Shutters, Tumbled Glass, VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Spellbinders, embossing folder – Provo Craft, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder, twine – Stampin’ Up!

Polar Bear with Green Merry Christmas Card

This is the card I made for my parents to mail this year.

Are my cards done? Not even started! My annual calendar is printed & assembled – so I am ahead there.

Hummingbird Thinking of You Card

I wanted to use the hummingbird stamp, but I didn’t want to take the time to color the image. I searched through all of my metallic paper samples, and found this blue one.

My mother-in-law requested a few birthday cards, and I am including this in the stash I send to her.

Floral Fringe Square Mother’s Day Card

The last of the Mother’s Day cards – this one was for my Mom.

The challenge was finding a sentiment to fit in the middle – I didn’t want to cover any of the flowers!

Poppy Parade, inks – Copic E29, E37, G46, R24, R29, V04, Y17, YG25, YG95, YR04, YR14, YR68, VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMark, embossing powders – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, Stampin’ Up! Daisies on Navy Birthday Card

TGIF!!! So glad Friday got here – it has been a long week. Not really sure WHY it has been a long week?? I did lose one day (spent it on the couch in the basement, so I could tend to the laundry machines without much movement!) to side effects from a Shingles vaccine. And I spent yesterday (which is my normal cleaning day) amazed at how much dust & grime had accumulated over the holidays (I didn’t have a regular cleaning day – I did a few freshen up things, vacuumed a few times). OH.MY.GOODNESS.

I used this bunch of daisies earlier this week, as traditional white daisies. But all along, I saw them on dark cardstock. With colored pencils.

Again, I am not sure if the sentiment strip. Maybe change it to pink with silver embossing?

Have a good weekend!

Supplies:  Stamps – Newton’s Nook, Papertrey Ink, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, PopTone RazzleBerry, Stampin’ Up! Night of Navy, Stardream Metallics Silver, ink – VersaMark, colored pencils – Prismacolor, dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), Taylored Expressions (banner), embossing powder – Stampin’ Up!
