Blended Ink Background Congratulations Card

I am working on a small card assortment for a friend.

I finally bought a super fine white embossing powder to try (Ranger) – OH MY. The smooth result of the embossing makes me happy.

Supplies:  Stamp – Papertrey Ink, paper – Gmund Royal, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Pop Tone Sour Apple, ink – Hero Arts Unicorn, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Twisted Citron, die – Simon Says Stamp, stencil – Heidi Swapp, sequins – Pretty Pink Posh, embossing powder – Ranger Super Fine Detail white.

Gerbera Daisy Birthday with Distress Oxide Smooshing

Three or four weeks ago, I had my Distress Oxide ink pads out to try and watercolor with them. Before I put them away, I made this background by smooshing the pads onto a sheet of plastic, spritzing a little water, and dipping a piece of watercolor paper into the puddle. “Spray, smoosh some more, repeat” until I liked the saturation.

After it dried, I heat embossed the gerbera daisies onto the background.

This card is larger than my usual cards (A6 – 4.675 x 6.25 inches).

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, Papertrey Ink, paper – Canson watercolor, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, inks – Hero Arts Unicorn, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean, VersaFine Onyx Black, die – My Favorite Things, embossing powders – Filigree Fine Art Powder white, Stampendous Detail clear.

Blue and Purple Ink Blended Sympathy Cards

I was in the mood for ink blending, specifically blue and purple ink blending. I used Strathmore Bristol paper for really easy blending.

Cherry Floral Belated Birthday Card

Sunday afternoon, while ironing, I had the sudden epiphany that I had missed someone’s birthday. And I had less than an hour to make a card.

(Which, if you are wondering…an hour is plenty of time to make a beautiful card if the card you are working on has no deadline! If I am working a deadline, an hour isn’t enough because I make multiple errors along the way!  This is the 4th iteration of floral background!)

I did try to add some randomly placed gold sequins, but after 10 minutes and 2 different sizes of sequins, I was not happy with any arrangement. Less is more, right??

Supplies:  Stamps – Altenew, Papertrey Ink, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Cherry Cobbler, inks – Gina K. Designs Cherry Red, VersaFine Vintage Sepia, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail Gold, organdy ribbon – Offray.
