The sentiment is from PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments.

Weathered Floral Thinking of You Note Card – Papertrey Ink June 2015 Blog Hop Challenge

pti june 2015 blog hop thinking of you

When I first saw the inspiration for the Papertrey Ink June 2015 Blog Hop Challenge , I was stumped. Heavy sigh. Not feeling it.

I looked again Monday morning, and this came through the fog.

Here is the inspiration:

I stamped the sentiment and embossed it. Then, I added flowers around it, but muted the colors by stamping off first (second generation stamping). I die cut flowers and distressed the paper (crumple, crumple, open, repeat!). A thin strip of scrapbook paper, and it was complete.

Supplies: Stamps – Papertrey Ink, paper – Heidi Swapp Favorite Things, Papertrey Ink White, Stampin’ Up! Barely Banana (retired), Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, ink – Stampin’ Up! Beachy VW Birthday Card – Papertrey Ink March 2015 Blog Hop Challenge

pti march 2015 beachy VW birthday

I am back for Papertrey Ink’s March 2015 Blog Hop Challenge!

Here is this month’s inspiration:

pti march 2015 blog hop inspiration

And boy, did it challenge me. I have been struggling with challenges this month. The inspirations have not inspired me (too much winter or too many hours on the couch with Netflix? Who knows!), or my attempts look too contrived.

Here are my first attempts at the challenge:

pti march 2015 attempts

I really, REALLY wanted to use my new Bold Blooms (Essentials by Ellen/Julie Ebersole) stamps, but I try to use Papertrey Ink products for the Papertrey Ink blog hop (seems only fair!). After the first 3 misses, I went back to my storage drawers and found the PTI Enjoy the Ride stamp set.

What is not to love about a yellow VW Bug on the beach with a plane banner (the plane flew off the card – ha!)? I used my blending tool to create the sky and the sand. Even pulled out the OLD Papertrey Ink Chai and Chamomile ink cubes I bought years ago and never used.

Thanks for stopping by!

pti feb 2015 blog hop appreciation stenciled

The Papertrey Ink February 2015 Blog Hop Challenge is today!

Here is the inspiration piece:

pti feb 2015 blog hop inspiration

I went really literal with this one. I have a Heidi Swapp stencil that almost perfectly matched the inspiration. And I just played with my Distress Inks again, blending with an ink blending tool. The scrap of silver paper is a nod to PTI’s new metallic product line (although it is Recollections brand).

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies: Stamp – Papertrey Ink, paper – Papertray Ink White, Recollections Silver Mirror, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberries, Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserves, Tumbled Glass, VersaFine Onyx Black, stencil – Heidi Swapp, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

Valentine Note Card – Papertrey Ink January 2015 Blog Hop Challenge

pti jan 2015 valentine

This month’s Papertrey Ink Blog Hop Challenge is titled “Hearts”.

Here is the inspiration:

pti jan 2015 inspiration

I decided to go small scale, based on the size of the heart stamps I had from Papertrey Ink (both from Tiny Treats: Valentine stamp set). I stamped the hearts in VersaFine Onyx Black and embossed them with clear powder. Then, I watercolored them with Kuretake Gansai Tambo paints. The dark pink layer is embossed with a heart background. The sentiment heart is framed with red glitter paper cut with Papertrey Ink’s Framed Out #12 die. The card base is Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies: Stamps – Papertrey Ink, paper – Canson watercolor, Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, Stampin’ Up! Melon Mambo, Red Glitter, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, watercolors – Kuretake Gansai Tambi, die – Papertrey Ink, embossing folder – Provo Craft, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, floss – DMC.

Floral and Butterfly Birthday Card – PTI Make It Monday #196

pti make it monday 196 birthday

I was contemplating this week’s Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #196 Challenge, Colorful Card Corners, when my January issue of Better Homes and Gardens arrived in the mail on Monday.

Did you hear the light bulb over my head illuminate?? I swear it made an audible noise!

I stamped my flowers, leaves and butterflies in Stampin’ Up! inks (no black embossed outlines today – I wanted this to be softer), then colored the flowers and leaves with Copic markers. After adding the “background” butterflies (and these were 2nd generation stamping – stamped off once on scrap paper before stamped on the cardstock), the sentiment was stamped and embossed.

Here is the BHG January 2015 cover:

Sympathy Card – PTI Make it Monday #195

pti make it monday 195 sympathy

This week’s Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #195  is “A la carte” – use any one of the 50 challenges from 2014 to create a new project.

I was really busy last week, and missed the opportunity to play along with Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #194, titled “Sympathy Cards & Stamped Borders”.

The bordered piece was really easy to create, and I topped it with a die cut tag & sentiment.

Today is January 1, 2015 – HAPPY NEW YEAR! May it be peaceful.

Thanks for stopping by.

Supplies: Stamps – Papertrey Ink, paper – Papertrey Ink White, Stampin’ Up! Marina Mist, Wisteria Wonder, inks – Stampin’ Up! Metallic Birthday Card – Papertrey Ink December 2014 Blog Hop Challenge

pti dec 2014 blog hop metallic birthday

Sorry I am LATE today…had to wait for daylight to photograph my project.

Time for Papertrey Ink’s December 2014 Blog Hop Challenge! YAY! I love PTI’s Blog Hops – so many beautiful and creative projects to oogle!

This month’s challenge is using silver & gold.

Which, of course, makes me think of Burl Ives (as a snowman). From Rankin & Bass’s classic “Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer”.

And, also, a song (“Make New Friends”) from my days in a Brownie Troop back in the dark ages.

(2 of the offspring are asking, “Ma, what are you listening to????”)

OK, sorry, the music just had to come out, you know?    😉    (and, I am resisting the urge to link “You Can’t Stop the Beat” from “Hairspray” at this point!)

Back to the CHALLENGE!

I knew I wanted to do a simple one layer card with no sequins. And I was able to make it happen! My biggest obstacle was ribbon/cord choice.

Supplies: Stamps – Papertrey Ink, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Papertrey Ink, ink – VersaMark, embossing powder – Stampin’ Up! Gold Glory, Sterling Silver, ribbon – JoAnn’s.

Holiday Shaker Tag – Papertrey Ink November 2014 Blog Hop

pti nov 2014 shaker tag v2(click on photo to enlarge)

Time for the Papertrey Ink November 2014 Blog Hop .

The theme for this month is SNOW! I had too many ideas for this, and not enough time. I’ve been a bit under the weather (asthma), so I let myself off the hook with one project.

I always feel guilty about not being able to create a totally Papertrey Ink project for the Papertrey Ink monthly blog hop! This month, I used paper, twine, mat stack die, and embossing powder from PTI.

Difficult to see in the photo, the snowflakes are cut from silver mirror paper.

Thanks for stopping by!
