You’re A W{anchor} Card

So…while on vacation, I found a basket full of clearance cards. I bought one, it was $1. I had to put my own spin on it.

I dry embossed the royal cardstock, then fussy cut the wave edge. I pulled out a crochet hook and did a simple chain stitch for the anchor chain using metallic thread.

Here is the original card, from the company kissmekwik in the UK:

A link to their website, if you are interested:  kissmekwik .

And, from The Urban Dictionary, I chose the 2 variations that most match my interpretation of the word “wanker”:

UK/Aus/NZ slang for:

2. Someone with a faintly sociopathic lack of regard for other people; see also arsehole.

3. Someone useless, inefficient or time-wasting, especially in a place or work and/or position of responsibility.

Supplies: Stamp – Essentials by Ellen, paper – Gmund Royal, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Brushed Gold, Brushed Silver, Real Red, Soft Sky, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Memory Box (clouds), My Favorite Things (anchor), Provo Craft (letter), Spellbinders (banner), embossing folder – Darice, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, thread – Coats & Clark metallic silver.

Chipmunk Note Card

chipmunk hello note

I stamped the chipmunk first, then created the scene around him (I have named him “Fred”).

I realized after this was all assembled that *perhaps* the tree was designed to be a fallen, horizontal tree for Fred to sit on. Fred says, “maybe next time”!

Supplies: Stamps – Hampton Arts, Lawn Fawn, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Old Olive, inks – Copic E15, E53, Stampin’ Up! Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Smoky Slate, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, VersaFine Vintage Sepia, ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pen 041 Light Green, dies – Memory Box, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, Ranger Liquid Platinum.

Sunflower Shower Card

sunflower shower

Remember the sunflower project I was working on? My mother is attending a bridal shower for the lover of sunflowers, and this is what I came up with for a shower card.

I created a cute little scene, with heart shaped raindrops in translucent embossing paste falling on a smiling sunflower.

Here is a close up of the raindrops:

Lighthouse Anniversary Card – Fusion Card Challenge {Elegance}

fusion {elegance} anniversary

I got motivated by the latest Fusion Card Challenge {Elegance} over the weekend.

I embossed the lighthouse, and then colored around it with Copics.

Here is the Fusion inspiration:

Skyline Birthday Card

nathans city birthday

One of Offspring2’s friends celebrated a birthday recently. This friend is studying architecture. Over spring break, Offspring2 had friends over and I did not have time to clean up my crafting mess, and the friends were all a bit surprised – “your mom does WHAT?”…except for the architecture student. He has been over twice since then to create.

I am hoping he “gets” this mixed media creation!

I did not have a cloud stencil, but I did have cloud dies, so I made the stencils I needed to apply embossing paste. Here is a close up of the texture of the clouds:
