Make Today Beautiful Card

My new Newton’s Nook stamp sets were still on my craft table (ready to be put away), when I pulled out my *never been used* Lawn Fawn sunray coverplate die.

I had a Reese’s “You got peanut butter in my chocolate”, “no, you got chocolate in my peanut butter” moment.

The cut sunrays were staring at me, and the “make today beautiful” sentiment jumped out.

I added a few sequins, just to make the sunrise glint.

YAY!

Happy Friday!

Supplies:  Stamp – Newton’s Nook, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Lawn Fawn, sequins – Doodlebug Designs, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

Daisies on Navy Birthday Card

TGIF!!! So glad Friday got here – it has been a long week. Not really sure WHY it has been a long week?? I did lose one day (spent it on the couch in the basement, so I could tend to the laundry machines without much movement!) to side effects from a Shingles vaccine. And I spent yesterday (which is my normal cleaning day) amazed at how much dust & grime had accumulated over the holidays (I didn’t have a regular cleaning day – I did a few freshen up things, vacuumed a few times). OH.MY.GOODNESS.

I used this bunch of daisies earlier this week, as traditional white daisies. But all along, I saw them on dark cardstock. With colored pencils.

Again, I am not sure if the sentiment strip. Maybe change it to pink with silver embossing?

Have a good weekend!

Supplies:  Stamps – Newton’s Nook, Papertrey Ink, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, PopTone RazzleBerry, Stampin’ Up! Night of Navy, Stardream Metallics Silver, ink – VersaMark, colored pencils – Prismacolor, dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), Taylored Expressions (banner), embossing powder – Stampin’ Up! People Issues Blended Card

I ordered the 2nd set of snarky sentiments to go with this Essentials by Ellen Voices in My Head lady. And I had a day last week when I needed someone to send this card to ME.  😉

I struggle with the background for her. This time, I blended some Distress Oxide Ink over her (she was covered with masking paper).

In case you are wondering, the inspiration for the gray stripy hair is MY HAIR. I have been growing out my hair color (18 months now – still have some colored tips on one side – the longer side of the side part), and I now have brown & gray stripy hair. Not unattractive – I am glad I have muscled through the awkward stages with no emergency highlights or super short pixie and made it to the other side!

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, inks – Copic E21, E23, E37, E53, W3, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Oxide Inks Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet, VersaFine Onyx Black, Vintage Sepia, die – Lawn Fawn, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.
