Remember the sunflower project I was working on? My mother is attending a bridal shower for the lover of sunflowers, and this is what I came up with for a shower card.
I created a cute little scene, with heart shaped raindrops in translucent embossing paste falling on a smiling sunflower.

I didn’t have the right golden yellow color, so I colored a piece of YoYo Yellow cardstock (retired) with my Copic Y18 marker.
Does anyone else still have the huge 4 oz container of Stampin’ Up! Gold Glory embossing powder? I bought it maybe in 2003, and I still have plenty. Same with the 4 oz Stampin’ Up! Crystal Clear (but I rarely use this – I have moved on to “finer” grit powders for clear). The 4 oz size was discontinued within a few years of when I bought it.

There was a birthday party this past weekend, celebrating my aunt’s 80th birthday. She is a HUGE Baltimore Orioles fan, the invitation looked like a baseball jersey. So, I went with that theme for her card. “Celebrate!” is embossed on the white background, the flowers/dots were stamped there as well. I threw chunky glitter, sequins, and assorted glass beads (Stampin’ Up!, circa 2004, Earths collection) into the shaker. AND, I think I got the amount right this time.

Trying to get back “into routine” after the holidays, and I am struggling. I expected to sit down at the craft table, and have multitudes of creative ideas flow out. Just not happening. I’ve seen so many cute Valentine themed items go by on other blogs…I am not even interested in work on Valentine’s Day items yet.

Had a really productive holiday prep weekend here…got my Christmas cards assembled, the tree decorated, and one batch of cookies baked (and into the freezer).
Tool alert – I recently purchased an Artist’s Loft Junior T-Square at my local Michael’s store. I pulled it out yesterday, to help me place the computer generated sentiments (printed, then die cut) on the inside of my cards. OH, MY! How did I not have one of these years ago?? (truth be told, I have a big t-square with my Engineering Graphics tool kit from NCSU Fall 1979 semester, but it is too big to use with greeting cards!) Made placing the sentiment a quick & easy job!
