Pastel Watercolored Bouquet Birthday Card

I found this stamped piece in one of my folders, and since it turned out to be Bristol cardstock, I did a bit of pale watercoloring with my ZIG pens. I do like how pale it turned out.

Bike Stripes Birthday Card

How about some happy, stripy bikes for a birthday card?

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, Hampton Arts, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Poppy Parade, inks – VersaFine Clair Nocture, Tulip Red, Twilight, die – Simon Says Stamp, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

Bookcase Strip Cards

The bookcase stamp I got is big – 6 x 6 inches. I color all of it, and then cut out what I need for a card front. Leaving me with strips of bookcase beautifulness left over to be used on other cards.

Supplies:  Stamps – Brutus Monroe, Essentials by Ellen, Waffle Flower, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, PopTone Black Licorice, Stampin’ Up! Bashful Blue (retired), Calypso Coral, inks – Copic B21, C3, C7, E53, G00, N1, N4, R14, Y06, YG25, VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaFine Clair Nocturne, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

Positive Vibes Note Card

I was flipping through a pad of paper, looking for something quirky to use on a note card.

A field of plus signs! Pair it with a “positive” sentiment, and I’ve got a math geek joke.  😉

Supplies:  Stamp – Essentials by Ellen, paper – DCWV No Prob Llama, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Pure Poppy, Soft Sky, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Lawn Fawn, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

Butterfly Wreath with Embossed Background Birthday Card

I really like all of the texture on this card!

I put away my papercrafting supplies for 2 days and made some different face masks to try for personal use (not for sale).

(click on any blog photo to enlarge in new tab window)

I mass produced the pleated style last spring and summer for family members. We all need some fresh masks – elastic is stretched, washing wear & tear. The clam shell one is white muslin – I had too many sizes to chose from, and I didn’t want to waste pretty fabric if I guessed wrong.

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, Reverse Confetti, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Highland Heather, inks – Copic V04, Y35, YG25, YR68, VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMark, dies – Reverse Confetti (tag, wreath), embossing folder – Provo Craft, embossing powder – Ranger Super Fine Detail white, Stampendous Detail clear.

Dusty Violet Floral Sympathy Card

One of my friends texted me two weeks ago and told me they needed to restock their card stash. Great! Except that I have not kept my basket well stocked since the pandemic started. I made a big push over the past two weekends, and I have added over 40 cards.

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, PopTone Black Licorice, inks – BV0000, BV00, BV01, BV04, G0000, YG03, YG25, VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

Repurposed Lilly Pulitzer Paper Encouragement Cards

BLOG MILESTONE:

This is post number 2,000.

I started blogging back in 2013 – it seems a lifetime ago.

Thanks for all of your comments and likes!

Back in 2016, I did a post titled Trash to Treasure – Lilly Pulitzer , about using a cut up advertisement as background paper.

I still have some of the wrapping paper and cut up advertisement, and I used it for some new encouragement cards. Aren’t these sentiments great??

I did two coats of the white embossing powder to get complete coverage.

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, Simon Says Stamp, paper – Lilly Pulitzer, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Night of Navy, Pacific Point, inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMark, dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), My Favorite Things (pierced rectangles), embossing powders – Ranger Super Fine Detail white, Stampendous detail clear.

Paint Chip Cards and the return of the missing mojo…

My creative mojo has been mostly absent for the past year. Pandemic concerns. Elder care and assistance.

But crafting has been my art therapy, my happy place for 18 years.

Was I bored with my crafting?

Was I overwhelmed with the crafting industry “buy this now” monthly release push? That answer has been YES for a while. (Yes, I know my being overwhelmed is MY problem, not a problem with the industry!) Sensory overload for me.

Was it time to move on?

So, I have been struggling along, making the bare minimum of cards for family.

I finished making my New Years cards in mid January (because I bailed on making Christmas cards, but I had purchased holiday postage stamps – have to send something!), and here come Valentine’s Day cards…

But my mojo peeked out from under the couch next to my craft table and asked me…

I am enjoying crafting. I have ideas. I STILL LOVE COLOR.

Alas, I have discovered that my card basket is very picked over (thanks to Offspring3 and my cousins! Love you! ❤ ). Lots of categories that need to be refilled.

Paint chips were begging to be stamped upon. So, two cards to help refill the basket.

Supplies:  Stamps – Clearly Besotted, Essentials by Ellen, My Favorite Things, paper – Behr paint chips (Home Depot), Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry, ink – VersaMark, dies – Essentials by Ellen (hello), Simon Says Stamp (sentiment strip), embossing powders – Gina K Designs Fine Detail Silver, Stampin’ Up! Classy Copper

Dachshund Snowy Day Thank You Card

Another card requested by my cousin.

I have created sunny day backgrounds for the dachshund to frolic in, but it is December, and I wasn’t looking to do that. I looked through my 6 x 6 holiday papers and found this perfect scene.

Hope your Christmas was the best it could be in this odd, trying year. Ours was very nice, although different (we delivered holiday food to my parents on Christmas, and my in-laws on the day after Christmas). The package mailed to Offspring1 that we thought got lost (in reality, it sat in the overwhelmed Baltimore Post Office for 2 weeks), arrived safely at its destination on Christmas Eve.

So, I am ready to clean up 2020 and move on to 2021.

Have a great day!

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, Lawn Fawn, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Poptone Sour Apple, Stampin’ Up! Amethyst Hummingbird Birthday Card

Part of the “birthday cards requested by mother-in-law” collection. Another scrap of sparkly paper for the hummingbird.

I stamped and die cut the flowers on green and yellow paper, then fussy cut the yellow blooms to be glued on top of the green ones.

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, Newton’s Nook, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Stardream Metallics Amethyst, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Newton’s Nook (flowers, hummingbird), Simon Says Stamp (banner), Spellbinders (circle), embossing folder – We R Memory Keepers, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.
