The floral stamps were still on my work table, so I made this monochromatic floral card. For a little texture, I added die cut hearts and a few sequins.
For someone near & dear to me!! (waving at YOU, Cousin Pati! 😉 )
I used my MISTI to make a background with sugar skulls from a Hero Arts stamp set. Then, I realized I messed up part way through. I salvaged the good part with a circle die.
I needed a card that was tall enough to hold a check (I am sending a payment to someone – I will post what I bought when it arrives!). This fits in a 6 3/4 security envelope.

These cute little owls (and sentiments) are from a tiny Technique Tuesday set called Cozy Up Owl. I sat them on an old Papertrey ink branch (actually, I stamped the individual owls first, masked their little feet, and then stamped the branch).
I was working on a batch of cards to send to the gallery, and the “animal” category was on the list. Looking at this, it really would make a great holiday card with a different sentiment! #maybenextyear
Supplies: Stamps – Paper Smooches, Taylored Expressions, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Bliss Blue (retired), Real Red, inks – Copics B21, E53, R29, Hero Arts Unicorn, VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), My Favorite Things (pierced rectangle), Taylored Expressions (dog), embossing folder – Darice, embossing powders – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, white.
I really love this cute Doodlebug Designs Boos & Brews paper!
After I assembled this, I realized I should have added texture to the purple-ish band. DRAT. Should have used an embossing folder. I added black pearls and googly eyes.
I love the girl/foliage stamp from Waffle Flower, but I struggle with how to color it. This time, I used my MISTI tool, and colored each individual element and stamped separately. Multiple times (the main image was probably stamped 40 times!), because my old Stampin’ Up! markers were not giving me great coverage on the clear stamp. I am mostly pleased with the finished product.
If you have any suggestions about what type of markers will give me more coverage on a clear stamp, please leave me a comment!! (thanks!)
I stamped butterflies on the background, and then added an embossed butterfly and an embossed sentiment.
