Smooshing Background Enveloper Birthday Card

I have tried the smooshing technique before, and I am never totally satisfied with my results. I was inspired by this Taylored Expressions blog post to try again.

I used Distress Ink pads, so my color tended to stay linear (pad edges).

I was encouraged enough by this to want to try it again, maybe with watercolor paint or ink pad reinkers.

No jury duty today – the recorded message indicated no one was to report.

Supplies: Stamps – Papertrey Ink, Waffle Flower, paper – Canson watercolor, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Taylored Expressions Jelly Donut, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, Shaded Lilac, Spun Sugar, Wilted Violet, VersaMark, die – Taylored Expressions, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail Gold, organdy ribbon – Offray.

Pearlized Bouquet Square Birthday Card

OOPS! Another bouquet card! I found a set of Gansai Tambi Pearl Colors (watercolors – the colors are all shimmery) on sale, and this bouquet was already stamped & embossed, waiting in my scrap folder to be the “test piece”.

I die cut the bouquet after it was dry, and popped it up on foam. You can see the pink background along the cut line.

Supplies: Stamps – Avery Elle, Clearly Besotted, paper – Canson Watercolor, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Poptone Razzle Berry, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, ink – Hero Arts Unicorn, die – Avery Elle, watercolors – Gansai Tambi Pearl Colors, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder white.

#ECStrong Card

The last time I posted a card using this house stamp, I asked for suggestions on how else to color it (I seem to see it as a tan stucco house…ALL.THE.TIME.). Miss Hammie suggested that I try coloring it like the Painted Ladies in San Francisco. Great suggestion. I was prepping for vacation, never executed the idea.

Fast forward to this weekend’s flooding in Historic Ellicott City. Offspring3 told me (on Messenger from Spain…) that I needed to get my house stamp out and create an Ellicott City card.

I stamped the house on watercolor paper using different colors of dye ink, then used an aqua brush to move some of the color around.

Supplies: Stamps – Hero Arts, JustRite, paper – Canson watercolor, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Basic Gray, inks – Stampin’ Up! Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, Red Riding Hood (retired), Wisteria Wonder, VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Taylored Expressions, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.
