You Are Mermazing Card

I used this cutie on a birthday card I needed to send, and made a second card with a fun sentiment.

I stamped the rock first, then masked it off to blend the sky and water. The mermaid was colored with Copics and die cut, but then I fussy cut it with detail scissors right against the embossing. I colored the raw edge with a black marker. I used an embossing folder on the water part of the card.

Supplies:¬† Stamps – My Favorite Things, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Bermuda Bay, Strathmore Bristol, inks – Copic B02, BG15, BV00, C3, E11, E21, E23, E51, V04, 100, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Blueprint Sketch, Tumbled Glass, VersaFine Onyx Black, Smokey Gray, dies – Lawn Fawn, embossing folder – Darice, sequins – Simon Says Stamp, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

Painted Enveloper Series Mother’s Day Card

For this card, I stamped in black and embossed. Then, I carefully watercolored the flowers and butterflies. When that was dry, I lightly watercolored the sky. I was really happy with it, until I thought, “Oh, let me wipe of the embossed areas, just in case there is some color still sitting on top of the embossing – I don’t want the recipient to get painted fingers.” Now there are several smudges. My final touch was splatterings of clear Wink Of Stella.

So, helpful readers, how should I remove the residual paint color that sits on top of embossed areas? I know I rubbed – I should not have done that. Would just blotting work?

Supplies: Stamps – Hero Arts, Waffle Flower, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Poptone Sour Apple, Strathmore Bristol, inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, Smokey Gray, ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens Carmine Red (022), Cobalt Blue (031), Light Green (041), Orange (070), Yellow (050), ZIG Wink of Stella, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, Ranger Silver Pearl.

Colored Bottle Birthday Card

colored bottles birthday

I used the Avery Elle beer bottle (OK, maybe it is a soft drink bottle…{insert eyeball roll here}) to make a collage of colored glass. Do you collect any specific colors of glass? I am not a big collector (we are NOT talking about crafting supplies, we are talking about collections to display!), but I do have 2 beautiful cobalt blue wine bottles from Germany (thanks to my friend, Paulette¬† – who liked the wine in the blue bottle – for saving them for me all those years ago in Bavaria!) that were the inspiration for this card.

Supplies: Stamps – Avery Elle, Papertrey Ink, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Strathmore Bristol, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, ZIG Real Brush Clean Color Pens Blue (030), Brown (060), Carmine Red (022), Cobalt Blue (031), Green (040), Light Green (041), Orange (070), Yellow (050), dies – Lawn Fawn, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.
