Yellow Butterfly Heart Flutter Card

There seems to be a larger population of yellow butterflies in my neighborhood this year – which is a nice thing!

Here’s a photo I took last week – this cutie was hanging out just outside of the gym as I arrived to exercise.

You Make Cold Days Warmer Dog Card

Oceans of Love Fish Card

When I got this stencil last year, my first thought was to make each fish a different color…and my logistical brain said “way too much work”. I FINALLY went back to my first thought, and am very glad I took the time!

I used Post-It tape to mask off each individual fish, each bubble (yes, I have a few places where I missed).

When the ink was dry, I repositioned the stencil and applied clear embossing paste over the colored fish. After the embossing paste dried, I applied a very light watercolor wash (and tried to keep my brush as dry as possible, since I didn’t use watercolor or Bristol paper) to make the watery background.

Mood when done:  HAPPY.  🙂

Supplies:  Stamp – My Favorite Things, paper – Gmund Royal, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, inks – Lawn Fawn Manatee, Simon Says Stamp Slate, Stampin’ Up! Only Orange (retired), Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Abandoned Coral, Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Tumbled Glass, Twisted Citron, Wilted Violet, VersaMark, die – Simon Says Stamp, stencil – Newton’s Nook, embossing paste – Dreamweaver Wendy Vecchi translucent, watercolor – Sakura Koi, embossing powder – Ranger Super Fine Detail white.

I Ruff You Yellow Labrador Card

While I was in my scrap folders yesterday, I ran into this labrador image that was Copic colored and ready to go. The Build A Scene scraps made a really quick card.

Bashful Blue (retired), Taylored Expressions Build A Scene, inks – Copic E53, R29m YG06, VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Simon Says Stamp (fishtail), Spellbinders (tag), Taylored Expressions (dog), embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

So Special Butterfly Card

I made this blended background ages ago, it was just hanging out in one of my folders. This week, I thought it needed a butterfly!

Night of Navy, Stardream Metallic Flame, Strathmore Bristol, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Blueprint Sketch, VersaFine Clair Twilight, dies – Hero Arts (butterfly), Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), Simon Says Stamp (banner), stencil – Heidi Swapp, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

I Like You a Waffle Lot Cards

I had Technique Tuesday’s Waffle Lot stamp set out working on a Valentine card.

I used masking to stamp a waffle background.

I made an extra one, just to have around.

For this one, I pulled out an old Provo Craft embossing folder (Traffic Jam) to repeat the waffle dents on the background.

Supplies:  Stamps – Technique Tuesday, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Desert Storm, Stampin’ Up! Real Red, Tempting Turquoise (retired), inks – Copic E23, E53, Y13, Y18, Stampin’ Up! Coffee Cake, VersaFine Onyx Black, Vintage Sepia, dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), Papertrey Ink (mat stack), Spellbinders (circle), embossing folder – Provo Craft, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.
