St. Patrick’s Day Card

I splurged last St. Patrick’s Day and bought some clearance items to use in the future (I only make one or 2 St. Patrick’s Day cards, I don’t feel pressured to purchase something new every year). This one is for Mom & Dad.

Confetti White, Stardreams Gold, ink – VersaFine Smokey Gray, dies – My Favorite Things (pierced rectangle), Taylored Expressions (shamrock), embossing powder – Stampendous Gold Detail, twine – Martha Stewart.

The Day After Christmas 2016

Oh, my!

I hope you had a Christmas that made you smile. I know I did.

I was so busy the past few days, it didn’t dawn on me to set up a post for today. And I’m not quite ready to move on yet.

Today, we are off to the airport. Offspring3 is leaving for a 3 week class in Mexico.

(And, YES, I did stash a few note cards in the luggage…but don’t tell!)

Have a great day.

Finished Christmas Stocking

Here is the finished stocking¬† from Saturday’s work in progress post. (You can read it here – Work in Progress – Christmas Stocking .)

It is 17.5 inches tall.

I attached the sequins by embroidering a French Knot through the center of each disc. The name is embroidered in stem stitch.

I do think the 3 letter name looks a little lost on the white cuff, but other names in the collection have up to 8 letters. I wanted the letters to be the same size across the collection.

Have a great day! I am going back to the kitchen to bake more cookies!

Whimsical House Christmas Card

Here is the card that I designed (and executed, of course!) for my parents to send this year. The inside sentiment reads, “Sending love from our house to yours this holiday season”, and is from a wood mount stamp by Hero Arts. I started Friday morning, finished 25 cards Sunday morning. (Hopefully, I won’t injure myself patting my own back on that accomplishment!)

I had a moment Friday morning that sounded a lot like Colin Firth practicing for “The King’s Speech”…cutting white base cardstock (I use 110# Neenah for bases – really heavy stuff), I cut the 25 I needed and OH! I only have 2 full sheets left. Yeah. Needless to say, I got right on the internet & ordered more (I was waiting to see if I would get a grant from the local arts council to help defray the cost of new supplies since some of my art work floated down Main Street in the July 30th flood.). Now my rainy day fund is gone. Still hoping for some amount of a grant!

Supplies: Stamps – Clearly Besotted, Doodlebug Designs, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Poptone Sour Apple, Stampin’ Up! Real Red, Smoky Slate, inks – Copic B00, C3, C5, E23, R29, YG17, Y13, Stampin’ Up! Pool Party, VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Taylored Expressions, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, twine – MarkerPOP.
