Cityscape Graduation Card

cityscape graduation

One of my dearest friends has an offspring graduating from Yale this month. And, the lovely offspring has landed a great job in The Big Apple. I thought I would combine both of those accomplishments into one card.

I cut the buildings out of 4 different colors, using dryer sheets to hold all the pieces (4 layers of dryer sheet – this was one sheet (per color) folded into quarters – under the paper in your normal die cut machine sandwich).

I was then able to pull out specific windows to individually glue into my design.

Supplies: Stamp – Clearly Besotted, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stardreams Silver, Stampin’ Up! Basic Gray, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Smoky Slate, YoYo Yellow (retired), ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Hero Arts, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

Graduation Card in College Colors

salisbury graduation

Bravo Burgundy (retired), So Saffron, Taylored Expressions Build A Scene, ink – VersaFine Crimson Red, dies – Spellbinders (circle), Taylored Expressions (graduation cap), embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

December Graduation Card

um grad 2015 Michael

Someone I know (cough! cough! Offspring1) finished college in December with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

WOOT!!

#soproud

Funny story about this card: Offspring1 and I are both from the “don’t count your chickens before they hatch” camp, and I could not make this card until the final grades were posted. When the last grade popped up, the race was on to get the card done. And it even came out as a different design than I had planned in my head.

Supplies: Stamps – A Muse ArtStamps, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Real Red, ink – VersaMark, dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangles), Taylored Expressions (cap), embossing folder – Provo Craft, embossing powder – Stampin’ Up! Sterling Silver.

Red and Black Graduation Card

brigie grad v2

A graduation card for a friend’s daughter. School colors are red and black. The embossing powder I used on the main image has a bit of a pearl shimmer to it.

Supplies: Stamps – A Muse Artstamps, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Recollections Silver Mirror, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, inks – Stampin’ Up! Real Red, VersaFine Onyx Black, Smokey Gray, dies – Lawn Fawn, sequins – Doodlebug Designs, embossing powders – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, Ranger Silver Pearl, organdy/satin ribbon – ClearBags.

Pantone Paint Chip Graduation Card

pantone blithe graduation

The high school of the offspring has school colors of blue and white. This is not quite the right blue (got glue on the one that matched!). I was going to do a black cap, but the name of the color on that ruined paint chip was “Princess Blue”, so I chose white.

Actually, “blithe” makes me think of “Anne of Green Gables” and Gilbert Blythe, played by Jonathan Crombie (who passed away in April). How is that for a tangent??

Supplies: Stamp – Clearly Besotted, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Pantone paint chip (from Lowe’s), Recollections Silver Mirror, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Taylored Expressions.

{Trumpet Fanfare} Offspring3 Graduation Card

offspring3 graduation

Yep. It happened. Where did that time go??

I was able to successfully use the laminator to attach some of the beautiful Ocean Blue foil to a Heidi Swapp Minc Sheet (cardstock covered in laser printer toner), and then die cut it with the word “congrats” and the tassle of the graduation cap.

Here is a closeup of the shine:

Green and Gold Graduation Card

taite 2015 grad

This is for a family member, her school colors are green & gold.

I didn’t have the right golden yellow color, so I colored a piece of YoYo Yellow cardstock (retired) with my Copic Y18 marker.

Does anyone else still have the huge 4 oz container of Stampin’ Up! Gold Glory embossing powder? I bought it maybe in 2003, and I still have plenty. Same with the 4 oz Stampin’ Up! Crystal Clear (but I rarely use this – I have moved on to “finer” grit powders for clear). The 4 oz size was discontinued within a few years of when I bought it.

Supplies: Stamps – JustRite, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Brushed Gold, Forest Foliage (retired), YoYo Yellow (retired) inks – Copic Y18, Tim Hotz/Ranger Distress Mowed Lawn, VersaMark, stencil – Heidi Swapp, dies – Lawn Fawn, embossing powder – Stampin’ Up! Gold Glory, organdy ribbon – JoAnn’s.
