Golden Get Well Card – CC499

jan golden get well

I have a friend from high school who is recovering from open heart surgery. Our class had a reunion last weekend, she attended and I did not. I heard about the surgery after it happened, and I regret that I missed the opportunity to just give her a hug and wish her no complications and a speedy recovery. I will drop this in the mail as soon as I hear she has been released from the hospital.

YES, of course I used my favorite poppies stamp. Again. I embossed in gold, and colored with ink and a blender pen. I love how it turned out.

And, Splitcoaststampers posted colors for this week’s color challenge (CC499) within minutes, and it fit the colors and the dessert option (gold!) well enough to be entered into that challenge.

Supplies: Stamps – Stampin’ Up!, paper – Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, Stampin’ Up! Brushed Gold, inks – Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie, VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Spellbinders, corner rounder – Stampin’ Up!, embossing powders – Ranger Liquid Platinum, Stampin’ Up! Gold Detail Powder, grosgrain ribbon – Stampin’ Up! (retired).

Masculine Quilt Get Well Card

masculine quilt get well

Trying to fill in all of the sections of my card basket, I needed a get well card that was neutral to masculine. I dug out retired Stampin’ Up! designer paper, punched squares out, and glued them on to a piece of lightweight cardstock.

Quilt backgrounds are a great way to use up all of the designer paper (or scrapbooking paper) scraps!

Supplies: Stamp – The Cat’s Pajamas, paper – Papertrey Ink White, Stampin’ Up! designer (retired), Night of Navy, rectangle die – Spellbinders, square punch – Stampin’ Up!, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, twine – We R Memory Keepers.

Rustic Floral Get Well Card

embossing paste get well pti mim 176

Last week’s Papertrey Ink’s Make it Monday #176 was a challenge to make a background using  a cover plate and embossing paste.

I don’t have any cover plates (background dies), so I used a small Papertrey Ink die to make a stencil to use with embossing paste.

pti make it monday 176 stencil

I used the leftover green embossing paste from the Daisy Birthday Card. I found that I made a mess with it because I kept pushing it under the edge of the handmade stencil.  😦  Thinking my problem was the depth of my stencil, I made a new stencil out of transparency, and still made a mess with the embossing paste. I trimmed off the messy stem and went for two flowers on my card.

But I kept pushing on…and finally got this card made.  I even used eyelets from my stash.

Supplies: Stamps – Stampin’ Up!, paper – Papertrey Ink White, Stampin’ Up! Glorious Green (retired), Lovely Lilac (retired), Orchid Opulence (retired), inks – Stampin’ Up! Glorious Green (retired), VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Lawn Fawn (speech bubble), Papertrey Ink (flower, stem), Spellbinders (rectangles), embossing folder – Provo Craft, embossing paste – Dreamweaver, eyelets – Stampin’ Up! (retired), embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

CC467 Get Well Card

cc467 get well

The Splitcoaststampers weekly color challenge usually gets posted sometime after I am off the computer Monday night and before I get back on the computer Tuesday morning. This week, I had insomnia Monday night. I got up at 2:30am, and, yahoo! The colors were posted, so I could get working.

The current challenge (CC467) colors are Bermuda Bay, Midnight Muse, and Soft Sky. Dessert option of watercoloring. (watercoloring is BIG this week on the blogs and challenges I follow)

I stamped/embossed the sailboat on watercolor paper and worked around it with ink and an aqua brush. I imagined the sailboat in a little bit of a squall, riding up a swell, “wishing you well” seemed to be the obvious choice for a sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Friday!

Supplies: Stamps – Reverse Confetti, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Canson watercolor paper, Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, Stampin’ Up! Brushed Silver, Midnight Muse, Soft Sky, inks – Stampin’ Up! Bermuda Bay, Midnight Muse, Soft Sky, VersaFine Onyx Black, die – My Favorite Things, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, linen thread – Stampin’ Up!
