Paper and Ink Imaginings

just playing with paper and ink

Quicky Note Cards

I do love note cards – the perfect snail mail surprise!

Really quick and easy to make with scrapbook paper.

Supplies:  Stamps – Hero Arts, Stampin’ Up!, paper – American Crafts Amy Tangerine (foliage), butterflies source unknown – I bought it at JoAnn’s, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Pop Tone Sour Apple, Stampin’ Up! Tempting Turquoise, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Simon Says Stamp (label strip), Spellbinders (circles), embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

Magenta Foiled Llama Hola Card

This card started with the “Hola” – I found the stamped and embossed sentiment in one of my scrap folders. I looked through my paper pads and found this magenta foiled llama. Yep – a perfect match.

Supplies:  Stamp – Technique Tuesday, paper – DCWV No Prob Llama, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Island Indigo, ink – VersaMark, die – Lawn Fawn, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail gold.

Adventure Bikes Card

I had one of my bike stamps out, working on a card for personal use…and this one had to play through first. I used a Gina K. Designs wreath builder template to stamp the bike in the corners.

Supplies:  Stamps – Hampton Arts, PinkFresh Studio, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Pop Tone Black Licorice, Stampin’ Up! Soft Sky, inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaFine Clair Nocturne, die – Spellbinders, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

Bookcase Strip Cards

The bookcase stamp I got is big – 6 x 6 inches. I color all of it, and then cut out what I need for a card front. Leaving me with strips of bookcase beautifulness left over to be used on other cards.

Supplies:  Stamps – Brutus Monroe, Essentials by Ellen, Waffle Flower, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, PopTone Black Licorice, Stampin’ Up! Bashful Blue (retired), Calypso Coral, inks – Copic B21, C3, C7, E53, G00, N1, N4, R14, Y06, YG25, VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaFine Clair Nocturne, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

Positive Vibes Note Card

I was flipping through a pad of paper, looking for something quirky to use on a note card.

A field of plus signs! Pair it with a “positive” sentiment, and I’ve got a math geek joke.  😉

Supplies:  Stamp – Essentials by Ellen, paper – DCWV No Prob Llama, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Pure Poppy, Soft Sky, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Lawn Fawn, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

Stuck on You Desert Card

I used this as one of my punny Valentine cards – but it works for a LOVE card, too.

Lots of masking to stamp the cacti and succulents, with a touch of Copic coloring to fill in.

After a month of trying, I was able to schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments for both of my parents (in their mid 80’s). We go this week for shot #1, and then again the last week of March for shot #2.

Now I get to figure out the scheduling system in my in-laws home state.

Supplies:  Stamps – Newton’s Nook, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Wild Wasabi, inks – Copic B0000, E51, E53, Gina K. Designs Jelly Bean, Key Lime, Lawn Fawn Freshly Cut Grass, Mermaid, Merman, Taylored Expressions Lime Zest, VersaFine Onyx Black, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

Let’s Venti Note Card

I stumbled upon this paper pieced coffee cup in one of my folders and I had to use it.

Longing for a time when we can say, “Meet me at Barnes & Noble to catch up!”

Supplies:  Stamps – Avery Elle, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Pop Tone Sour Apple, Reverse Confetti From Cupid, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Avery Elle (coffee cup), Spellbinders (circle).

Good Vibes Rainbow Card

I recently got a stamp set full of encouraging sentiments – we all could use some encouragement now.

Difficult to tell in the photo, but the background has lightly stenciled clouds.

Supplies:  Stamp – My Favorite Things, paper – Gmund Royal, PopTone Razzle Berry, Sour Apple, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Gorgeous Grape, Pumpkin Pie, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, VersaMark, dies – My Favorite Things (rainbow, pierced rectangle), embossing powder – Ranger Super Fine white.

Bookcase Card

Offspring3 and I have a thing for bookcases. And all the things that you contain in bookcases.

With news contributors ZOOMing from their living rooms or offices during the pandemic, we have seen some beautiful bookcases in the last year.

Here are some examples! No need to watch the videos, you can see the bookcases in the preview pane.

Michael Beschloss, presidential historian:

(He gets bonus points for that fireplace!)

Kacie Hunt from MSNBC:

(She gets bonus points for books arranged by COLOR!)

ANYWAY, I found a bookcase stamp that hits it all – from Brutus Monroe. It even has cats and cameras – very versatile.

The interior sentiment of this card is Sending you warm wishes & sunny smiles.  (I stamped one too many for New Year’s cards.)

Supplies: Stamp – Brutus Monroe, paper – Neenah Classis Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Bashful Blue (way, way retired), inks – Copic B21, C3, C7, E53, YG25, VersaMark Clair Nocturne, die – Lawn Fawn, embossing powder – Stampendous.

COW Are You Note Card

I love cards with pun sentiments!

How are you this week? I am OK – creativity is working! Weather is chilly & no sunshine.

WordPress congratulated me last week on the 8 year anniversary of my blog. WHAT? I have been doing this for eight years??
