Bright Floral Background

bright marigolds a la lilly background

Another background attempt, a la Lilly Pulitzer. I did make a mistake on this one – I did not mean for there to be any RED on the card. Alas, I grabbed the wrong pen, and red made it onto the card. Pretty, but not for the original purpose now.

I stamped the marigold in Distress Ink, and colored directly onto the paper with the ZIG Clean Color Real Brush pens. No water involved on this one.

Supplies: Stamp – A Muse Artstamps, paper – Strathmore Bristol, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Blueprint Sketch, ZIG Clean Color Real Brush pens Carmine Red (22), Light Green (41), Orange (70), Pink (25), Yellow (50).

Watercolored Background

watercolored palm trees a la lilly background

I am working on a large birthday card for personal use, and created a large background in the style of Lilly Pulitzer prints. I stamped the tree in Distress Ink, then watercolored with an aqua brush and ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens. The tree trunks were watercolored with more of the Distress Ink.

I am 90% sure I am using this background for the card…but, the birthday is not until August, I still have a few more weeks to waffle about it and change my mind!
