Dawn McVey is an artist/designer for Papertrey Ink, and she just seems like such a lovely person from her blog.
She recently had a small intestine transplant, and Papertrey Ink had a We Love Dawn Blog Hop over the weekend. I must have misread the deadline, I thought it continued for another day or two. ALAS, I seem to have missed the chance to link up to the hop.
Dawn loves bright colors, so I watercolored a background, and then embossed foliage in silver pearl embossing powder. I was thinking I would add sequins or jewels, but I tried several different combinations, and it was all just too much. It was just fine with watercoloring and embossing.
I already have this addressed and in the mail to Dawn.
Edited 2:40pm – OH! I see the link up is active again! YAY!
Supplies: Stamps – Papertrey Ink, paper – Canson watercolor, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Pacific Point, ink – VersaMark, watercolors – Sakura Koi, die – Taylored Expressions, embossing powder – Ranger Silver Pearl, organdy ribbon – Offray.

So pretty with the colorful background and delicate silver embossing! Love your elegant touches of sheer ribbon and blue border, too. I’m sure Dawn will enjoy your card!

Hi, Vicki! All of my PTI sets are older, this one is “With Sympathy”, and I have almost worn out the sentiments with use (I should really order a new set before it goes to the vault!).

Beautiful card, it reminds me of sunset at the beach. You read my blog so you know I’m a tad weird. Great job

Thanks, Miss Hammie. I painted the background a while ago, probably thinking I would use it as a sky for something.
