Stegosaurus Family Baby Card

So, I finally figured out how to execute the baby card I had in my head. This is something one of my cousins requested, it is an A6 card (a little bigger than my usual card).

I stamped the mirror image stegosaurus (the one on the right) first – because I kept screwing it up. Took about 6 tries to get it right (with a MISTI and a Paper Smooches Mirror block), and Jennifer’s McGuire’s very helpful Mirror Stamping video streaming while I was working. After that was done, I stamped the other stegosaurus and the baby, and masked them all. Next came the nest, rocks and trees, and they got masked as well. I blended ink for the grass and sky. After removing all my masks, I said a silent prayer that I WOULD NOT SCREW UP while coloring with my Copic markers!

  1. Well done for sticking with it as the result is adorable. The mirror image stamping worked a treat!

  2. How adorable! I’m totally new to mirror stamping, but you’ve inspired me to give it a try!

    • Melissa, mirror stamping is a great way to stretch your supplies. I do suggest practicing! And watching the video I linked (or another YouTube of your choice) was helpful. Can’t wait to see what you create!
