I have been debating in my head (probably for the entire summer!) about buying a pineapple stamp set. Yes, pineapples are cute. YES, they are in vogue. But I come back to “how many pineapple cards am I really going to make?” Am I really going to use the sentiments that are included with pineapples? (the answer to that is NO!) I just can’t justify buying a stamp set to make one card.
Saturday afternoon, I was rearranging my stamp storage, and I pulled out the Stampin’ Up! set Balmy Breezes from 2005. Oh, will you look at that…a pineapple. The art is not the current style, but it is still a pineapple.
I decided to use bright colors (as opposed to realistic colors).
Let me know what you think – should I buy a pineapple stamp set? Have I totally missed the pineapple bandwagon?

What a great sentiment.

I love your brightly coloured pineapples! I know completely what you mean about possibly missing the pineapple boat, but I ordered a set of pineapple and flamingo stamps at the weekend because I just could not resist. I justified it by telling myself that card makers would know the fashion had been around for a while, but the recipients perhaps may not?!

Thank you, Gillian! I do agree that recipients are not going to get bogged down with evaluating trendy or current when they receive a card!

Let’s just enjoy our pineapples while we can then!!

My fingers are itching, but the delivery is a bit delayed, sadly. Have you decided yet? Purchase or no purchase?

My head is saying “go for it”, but my wallet is saying, “silly girl, you need to reorder Neenah cardstock & X-Press It tape!”

Well to be honest I am pretty sure it is rather late in the year for my purchase, but I couldn’t help it. Definitely heart instead of head!

I am seeing the pineapple OR the flamingo in holiday colors as a pop art Christmas card! And think of how ready for summer you will be if you already own the set!

Ooh, good idea!

Or emboss the pineapple in gold, put some greens around it?

I think you need the stamps too!

I’ll have another discussion with my wallet. 😉

Show it who’s boss!

Offspring3 has chimed in, does not think a new pineapple set is necessary. (the card I made yesterday mysteriously vanished before I even finished the blog post about it!)

Guess it was a success then! Ah well, I expect next year we will all want kiwi fruit and dodos instead of pineapples and flamingos!
