Highlighted Floral Birthday Card

highlighted floral birthday

I decided to experiment with highlighting an area on a card front. I die cut a circle, then used the negative “hole” to blend ink on a white panel. The leaves were stamped on top of that. The flower was stamped on a separate piece of paper, painted with an aquabrush, and fussy cut.

Supplies: Stamps – Papertrey Ink, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, inks – Kirarina WiNK White Pearl, Papertrey Ink Fresh Snow, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Mowed Lawn, Tumbled Glass, ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens Carmine Red (022), Orange (070), Yellow (050), dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), Spellbinders (circle), embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder white.

  1. I saw this really, really close up and initially wondered how you had stamped the flower over the circle. Then I read… I can’t believe you fussy cut it. There is no way you can tell! You are going into the Olympic Scissor Skills event…
