Hey, I participated in another challenge! Today is my entry for the Essentials by Ellen August 2016 Pin-Sights Challenge.
Here is the inspiration board:
From the inspiration board, I focused on flowers and the colors pink, white and gold. I decided to do an emboss resist technique because I saw the technique at least twice recently on blogs (Kristina Werner, Laura Bassen). The roses were embossed in clear, and then I blended Distress Inks over them when the embossing had cooled. After the ink was dry, and any excess ink buffed off the roses with a paper towel, I stamped the leaves and embossed them in gold. Pop on a sentiment, an scatter some sequins, and the card is finished.
Supplies: Stamps – Clearly Besotted, Essentials by Ellen, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Calypso Coral, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMark, sequins – Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow 4 mm, embossing powder – Stampendous Gold Detail, Stampin’ Up! Crystal Clear.

So pretty. Don’t you love those techniques – first the magic of heat embossing, then the beauty of distress inking?

Is it pink? Check. Does it have flowers? Check. Is it stylish? Check. Ticks all the boxes for me!
