Metallic Ranunculus Sympathy Card

metallic ranunculus sympathy

I can’t seem to put away the ranunculus stamps from the Hero Arts You’re So Lovely set.

This was totally inspired by the Vintage Ombre Ranunculus post on the Hero Arts Blog last week. I love the look of metallic pigment inks, but I can never get them to dry completely. My version is all embossing powder over VersaMark.

Supplies: Stamps – Hero Arts, Papertrey Ink, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Night of Navy, Stardream Copper, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMark, embossing powders – Ranger Liquid Platinum, Verdigris,  Stampin’ Up! Classy Copper.

  1. Great card. I used to have the same problem with metallic pigment inks, and the same solution – emboss it. Otherwise they would still smudge a week later! Mind you, I bought these ink pads at least 10 years ago and some of them are still perfectly usable so it is not all bad news. But it means I haven’t tried any new ones to see if they dry better!

    • Gillian, I had the exact same experience! And sometimes, you don’t want raised embossing! I have not bought metallic ink pads since maybe 2004? And I threw mine away a few years ago because I was not using them.
