This is my creation for the Essentials by Ellen November 2015 Pin-Sights Challenge.
Here is the inspiration mood board:
I absolutely love blues and browns together….throw in some copper, and OH MY, I am doing a happy dance.
I created a watercolored background with 3 colors of Pearl Ex (Super Bronze, Super Russet, True Blue):
I think I mixed in too much water, it didn’t turn out as smooth as I had hoped. Live and learn. I still LIKE it, just not sure how I will use it.
I broke one of my own rules – I went to the challenge post to see what other people had posted. I see a few Bold Blooms cards. Which is the set I have to use, the blue and copper don’t really speak to me with the hippo or the bird from Wish Big.
Hmmmm…. I picked the really abstract flower, and embossed that on the shimmery background multiple times and die cut. I dug through my paper stash and found some Iridescent Sky shimmery metallic paper (not sure of the manufacturer – purchased from California Paper Goods, maybe 10 years ago). PERFECT! I embossed “happy” from Bold Blooms, “birthday” from Wish Big, and the stem from Bold Blooms. Added the die cut flower heads, matted it on dark brown, and added a copper embroidery floss bow.
(please Please PLEASE let my random number win so I can purchase another Essentials by Ellen stamp set and matching dies!)
Thanks for stopping by!
