Floral and Butterfly Birthday Card – PTI Make It Monday #196

pti make it monday 196 birthday

I was contemplating this week’s Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #196 Challenge, Colorful Card Corners, when my January issue of Better Homes and Gardens arrived in the mail on Monday.

Did you hear the light bulb over my head illuminate?? I swear it made an audible noise!

I stamped my flowers, leaves and butterflies in Stampin’ Up! inks (no black embossed outlines today – I wanted this to be softer), then colored the flowers and leaves with Copic markers. After adding the “background” butterflies (and these were 2nd generation stamping – stamped off once on scrap paper before stamped on the cardstock), the sentiment was stamped and embossed.

Here is the BHG January 2015 cover:

The chair inspired my color choices for this challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Cute card and sweet color inspiration!

  2. Very pretty and I love how you were inspired…and how you described it! I can relate, sometimes I truly think I hear the light bulb pop or a choir of angels singing when inspiration hits. Hehe 🙂

  3. Love your colors. Very cheery card.

  4. fab card – love the colours

  5. I’m not really a butterfly person but really like how they are in the background. As everyone else has commented, you can’t go wrong with orange and pink.
