I had an idea in my head for this week’s Papertrey Ink Make it Monday (#186). Before I started, I checked for the latest Splitcoaststamper’s Color Challenge (#502 “Misty Green Midnight”). Voila! A card was born.
I die cut multiple birthday words (one with the stamping on the front, one with adhesive for the bottom layer, one just plain white) and kept the pieces together by using washi tape (not sure if I saw Julie Ebersole or Jennifer McGuire do this…or maybe both of them?!)
In the gluing process, I messed up the dot for the letter I, but I knew that my enamel dots were the perfect size to use as a substitute.
Supplies: Stamps – Papertrey Ink, paper – Papertrey Ink Kraft, White, Stampin’ Up! Marina Mist, inks – Stampin’ Up! Gumball Green (retired), Marina Mist, Midnight Muse (retired), VersaMark, die – Papertrey Ink, enamel dot – Stampin’ Up!, embossing folder – Provo Craft, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder, twine – Stampin’ Up!

Lovely card! What a clever idea to use washi tape to keep things straight when gluing. Love your layout!

Very pretty! Thank you for the great “how to” with the Washi tape as well! I will have to use this great idea.

Oh, thanks, Patti! I can’t claim the original tape idea…I know I have seen it elsewhere. I think Jennifer McGuire (and someone else…one of the Papertrey Ink artists) also used Glad Press & Seal wrap!
