Big Butterfly Mother’s Day Card

stump 2014 mom butterfly

This is the second card for my mother.

I embossed the large butterfly in black on watercolor paper, and painted the orange and yellow (from watercolor crayons) on with an aquabrush. Decided to be brave and fussy cut it out.

The blue sky is adhesive backed fabric that I found in my hoard. I know WHERE I bought it, just no concept of WHEN.

I cut a hilly horizon out of green, and cut little tiny grass slits.

Supplies: Stamps – Stampin’ Up!, paper – American Crafts fabric paper, Bazzill Lime, Canson watercolor paper, Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, watercolor crayons – Stampin’ Up!, sequins – Doodlebug Designs Inc, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

  1. I believe this kind of effort is worthy of one’s own Mom.

    • 😉 Difficult to find something “new” in my bag of tricks when creating for my Mom…she has seen all my hits & misses.
