My epiphany for the latest Runway Inspired Challenge ric#53 came at 5:00am Sunday morning. My vision was of a kaleidoscope…how can I put that together without looking too “preschool art project”? It took me another two days to figure out how to make it happen.
I took the first photo in indirect sunlight, hoping all of the shimmer and shine would show up…which it did not, but all of the colors are true. This second photo was taken in direct light…the shimmer is visible, but the colors are a bit washed out. The center circle, and the background of each butterfly are ESSE pearlized paper – I colored the pink and blue with Copic markers.
I used EB Success Swarovski Elements (AB) – those are my favorite jewels to use, the color changes from every angle.

The neckline somehow reminded me of the tumbling movement of a kaleidoscope.
