Runway Inspired Challenge – ric#52 – Encouragement Card

ric52 encouragement

Time for another Runway Inspired Challenge – ric#52.

This week’s look is so light and airy, I was not sure how to do it justice. Tulle? Vellum? Think think. Think think. (in my best Pooh Bear voice)

I created the background on watercolor paper by using a round plastic canvas (that I use as a piercing guide) as a stencil and misting with water mixed with maybe 10 drops of Barely Banana reinker. I had originally planned to stencil twice, once from each end of the paper, but after spraying the first time I had solid yellow where the stencil was not (so much for any illusion of control on my Mini-Mister!). The solid area did make a nice background for the sentiment. I added Wink of Stella to the centers of the flowers, for a tiny bit of sparkle.

Here is the inspiration piece by Dennis Basso:

  1. This is the first card I would like “saved” for me. Absolutely beautiful card and the perfect sentiment for my girls.

  2. Beautiful card Kathy, especially that subtle stencil effect in the background 😉

  3. Gorgeous! I love how it looks like the flowers are falling down! Thanks for joining us on the Runway!
