PPA186 – Thank You Card

PPA186 thank you card

Pals Paper Arts posted their most recent color challenge (#186) just as I was starting on a thank you card to send to our very dear ex-neighbor (Good morning! I know you are reading with your coffee!) who moved away this past summer. I was already incorporating a photo of her dog, Josie (Josie has been gone a few years).

Odd, you say, to include a photo of someone’s dog on a thank you card? The segue here is that Offspring3 and I were talking about how much we miss the neighbors that moved, and then, of course, how much we miss Josie (we dog sat, pinch hit whenever necessary). My friend gave me permission to use this image (I took the photo, but Josie was her dog!) here on my blog.

The colors for the challenge are Island Indigo, Gold, and White. When I printed the photo of Josie (from 2009), the wallpaper really looked more Island Indigo than the actual green that it was in person.

Supplies: Paper – Papertrey Ink White, Stampin’ Up! Brushed Gold, Island Indigo, embossing folder – Provo Craft, embossing/die (butterfly) – Stampin’ Up!, corner punch – Stampin’ Up!, enamel dot – Stampin’ Up!, organdy ribbon – JoAnn’s.

  1. I love my card!

  2. We have a dog just like Josie. We call ours Charlie. He has been the best dog ever. He is starting to climb in years but still has a puppy burst of energy. Usually involving treats.

    • Terry, I am allergic (even to Bichon Frise)…Josie dog sitting was just enough exposure. She was HILARIOUS. She scratched the pantry door for treats, would bark at you (almost like speech pattern) until you complied. She loved the wind in her ears & feather duster tail! She would think she was still young if she saw a squirrel on the fence or a bunny in the grass.

  3. The very best type of card, is one that is made especially for the recipient. You did a fabulous job! I am sure your friend will love it. Thanks for having fun with the Pals this week!

  4. I love that you included the dog it makes the thank you even more personal. The embossing on the Island Indigo is very pretty yet keeps the dog the focus. Great card. Thanks for playing with the Pals this week.

  5. Thanks for sharing this cute pampered pooch! See you soon at the PPA!
