The color challenge at SplitcoastStampers this week is “Always Baked Cherries” – Always Artichoke, Baked Brown Sugar, and Cherry Cobbler. Dessert option – make it a holiday card.
I struggled with the Baked Brown Sugar part of the card – I think it would have worked GREAT if I had a large scale evergreen bough that I could have embossed in silver (or just stamped in green) across the brown layer (to make it look like the ornaments were actually on a tree). I thought about using an embossing folder, but thought that would overpower the ornaments.
I die cut the ornament shape out of the brown layer, so the cherry ornament could be inset, and I popped the green ornament up on foam dimensionals, so the card has depth that the photo does not really show.
