Be My Valentine

swirl heart

Oh, no! Is it really February 1st? How did that happen? What happened to January? I have not made any of the Valentine cards for my family yet. ZOINKS, Scoobie!

The pink/orange heart actually started as glossy white paper, and I added pink and orange inks using an alcohol ink applicator tool (Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Applicator Tool at Ellen Hutson). The inks I used were not alcohol inks, but if you wet the felt pad with alcohol, and then add your ink, it works well. You could even use pre-moistened alcohol swabs instead of the felt pads that are included with the tool.

(note: I read about this technique on Splitcoaststampers years ago. I think the original tutorial was the Polished Stone Technique , but I eliminated the steps with the metallic ink and the sealer. )

I like the contrast of the rustic kraft card stock next to the silver glitter encrusted paper.
